The McAMS Yamaha Team will pay homage to Yamaha Motor’s 60-year history of competing in the Grand Prix World Championship by running a special livery for this weekend’s Oulton Park round of the 2021 Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

First, this weekend (17th to 19th September), is the ninth event of the season at Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona (ESP).

The short, 1.64 mile, National circuit layout is covered in around 53 seconds and is not a riders’ favourite. However, it generates entertaining racing for the spectators who would have to wait over two minutes to see the bikes each lap if we were using the GP circuit.

Jake Gagne hasn't let anyone else get a look in at winning a race this season, so it comes as no surprise he has won the championship! A truly dominating performance all season, and there's still one round to go! Congratulations to Jake and fellow supported rider Mathew Scholtz of Westby Racing who secured second place in the championship.

Simon Jespersen will replace Dominique Aegerter at the World Supersport round in Catalunya. Aegerter will compete in the final round of the MotoE championship. With the talented 20-year-old Jespersen, Ten Kate Racing Yamaha has an excellent alternative for the eighth round of the season, which takes place from 17th until 19th of September.

How do the WSBK riders compare against their closest rival: Their teammate?

The second half of the 2021 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship is well and truly underway with eight rounds now completed, giving a clear indication of how factory riders are performing against their closest rival: their teammate. After 24 races have been run in 2021, some intra-team battles already have a ‘winner’ for racing head-to-head while one rider still is yet to be outqualified by their teammate.
