Be Wiser Kawasaki

Strong End to the Season for the
Be Wiser Kawasaki Team
Brands GP
www.bewiserkawasaki.co.uk

It was the final round of the Pirelli National Superstock Championship at Brands Hatch this weekend and the Be Wiser Kawasaki team ended the season on high note. In the Superstock 1000 class Josh Day ended the 14-lap race in sixth place and Josh Wainwright in 11th. In the Pirelli National Superstock 600 Class, Nick Anderson got a solid seventh place.

Josh Day, once again did not take advantage of the dry qualifying session on Friday and he ended up in 17th place on the grid for the race. During the second wet qualifying session Josh was able to go fastest which set him up in a good frame of mind for the scheduled wet race. Josh got a great start and was through to eighth after the opening lap; he dug deep and worked hard to finish the race in sixth place.

Josh Day – “I was so pleased with the race result and what we managed to achieve at the last race of the year. It’s been a hard year and an up and down year for us, I’ve managed to learn a lot of things and take a lot from this season which hopefully I can put into practice next season also. We struggled from the off set to get a set up so once again qualifying was a problem. I knew after second qualifying in the wet that we had a great wet set up and this played into my hands come race day when I saw the weather. I got a good start but by the time I worked my way through the front runners had made a break and I wasn’t able to catch them so had to settle for sixth. I’ve enjoyed this season, it’s had its ups and downs but that’s racing and I hope to be back in the paddock again next year. I must thank all the team for everything they have done.”

Josh Wainwright also struggled during qualifying and with only one dry session he ended it just behind his team-mate in 18th position. He struggled off the start and worked hard to bring the Be Wiser Kawasaki home in 11th place.

Josh Wainwright – “I was a bit dubious on the first lap as I wasn’t sure how hard I could push in these conditions, even on the warm up lap I had a few moments so I was a little weary when the lights went out. The track was so wet and slippery that I really had to knuckle down and concentrate on the race, so much so I didn’t even know I was on the last lap. I was really enjoying the race and riding the bike in those conditions and I started to work my way up through the pack and pleased with my overall result. It’s been a good learning year on the Stock 1000 and must thank all the Be Wiser Kawasaki team for all their help and support.”

In the Pirelli National Superstock 600 class Nick Anderson also had a good solid end to his first season with the Be Wiser Team. After also having a poor qualifying session he ended up in 14th place, he got a good start and worked his way up to seventh as he crossed the line.

Nick Anderson – “That was such a tough race, we’ve not had a wet race all year so I knew it was going to be a little difficult out there today. I got a good start and was away with a good bunch of riders and the first few laps are always a little tricky even in the dry, I wanted to try and stay out of any of the mayhem that was going on. I rode hard and pleased with the result that I managed to get, this has been a great year with the Be Wiser Kawasaki team, I have learnt so much and really enjoyed the majority of my time out on track. Sometimes it has been a little frustrating but it is all a learning curve and it has been brilliant I can’t thank everyone in the team enough and all my personal sponsors.”

Team Owner/Manager Alan Grieg – “It is always good to end the season on a high note and that’s what we did this weekend. Once again all three of the boys struggled during the qualifying session and this let them all down in the race as their race pace was very good.

During the wet sessions all three riders were on good form and it was looking good on race day when the weather was rain. In the 1000 class Josh Day got a great start and more importantly he stayed out of trouble in the opening laps, he rode really well to finish in sixth place but because of the qualifying the front pack had made a break before he was able to catch them. From where he started on the grid we are really pleased with sixth position.

The same goes for Josh Wainwright he was a bit steady on the opening laps and again with his low qualifying position he had left himself with a lot of work to do. He dug deep to finish in 11th and again we are really pleased with his result today.

Nick had a steady qualifying session but his race times again were great and he managed to nab seventh on the line from Luke Hedger. He’s had a really good consistent season and I think there will be a lot more to come from him in the future, he has worked hard and listened all season and he’s a good rider to have on the team.

I would like to thank all our sponsors this year it has been a pleasure again to have them on board and their input in invaluable. I will be having meetings over the next few weeks to discuss our plans for 2014. I must also thank the entire Be Wiser Kawasaki team for their loyal support and all their work and I am looking forward to working with them all again in 2014.”

Mackrory Racing

John Ingram Brands Hatch

Firstly a big thanks to Steve and the team for their hospitality this weekend!

What a weekend it proved to be , with 3 bikes out for the weekend inviting local Eazi-Grip™ sponsored TT Rider Michael Niblett to join The Ram and Josh.

With most of the weekend wet John and Josh were more than happy , John rode well in the practice and qualifying rounds and came home 12th in Saturdays sprint race taking another 1st place in the Cup , Michael pulled in midway through after snapping the crank but had put a fast lap in to  move him 8 places up the grid , Josh was in a league of his own on the wet track and managed to finish 13th in qualifying in the weekends only dry session.

Sunday came and The Ram and Nibbo went out for the feature race , after just half a lap it began to rain and the race was red flagged , the lads had to choose their tyres as the track was dry but the clouds said otherwise , after just one lap of the restart the Rams choice of a Wet Front Tyre proved him wrong as he slid across the gravel at Hawthorn Bend , Rider was fine and it was down to Nibbo to carry the team forward , Nibbo finished 12th overall and picked up 3rd place in the cup , not a bad effort considering he’d never seen track or bike before Thursday.

Josh was out straight after the Supersport Race and got off to a flyer , battling for 3rd place with a group of riders he lost the front at Clearways and ended upright in the gravel , he managed to keep running and get back on the track in 13th and battled to take 11th place by the end , Josh was disappointed with the outcome but also content with his best finish of his 2013 season.

Congratulations to Eazi-Grip sponsored Sam Boyers for clinching the Wirrall 100 steel framed 600 championship this weekend.

We have mentioned Sam in a couple of previous posts this Year and to win a championship in only his 2nd full season, stands testament to Sams’ talent and commitment.  Sams’ father Marc who owns and runs an Autosmart franchise together with running ‘Team Boyers’ intends to take the team to compete in Thundersport in 2014.  In addition to the Steeley, they have also been running a  CBR1000RR Fireblade this season and Sam finished a credible 5th overall in the Anglesy Grand this weekend. We wish Team Boyers continued success for the coming Year and for any potential sponsors, Marc and Sam can be contacted on 07921 187114
