There were mixed emotions and mixed fortunes for all of the Eazi-Grip™ sponsored riders at Snetterton. Honda Racing Team’s Jason O’Halloran had his first win on board his Honda Fireblade while Dan Linfoot had 2 second place finishes moving them to 3rd and 4th in the Championship respectively.
Tyco BMW’s Christian Iddon fought through a tough weekend after injuring his index finger earlier in the week. The ever changing weather and an incident in Race 1 caused the Stockport rider to finish just out of the points in 19th. The red flagged Race 2 saw Iddon climb through the field to finish the race in 6th after starting the race in 14th. Christian Iddon leaves the Norfolk circuit 5th in the Championship ahead of the next round at Thruxton.
The Quattro Plant Kawasaki team of Luke Mossey and Filip Backlund had a weekend of up and downs with Mossey crashing out in the early laps of Q1 and Backlund making progress having a strong qualifying performance and making it into Q2 for the first time this season. Race 1 saw Mossey finish the 16 lap race in 7th after starting from 28th on the grid while Filip Backlund gained his first points of the season in 15th. Mossey was on course for another strong finish when in Race 2 he had a braking issue causing him to run off track finishing the race in 13th. Team-mate Backlund finished the hard fought Race 2 in 18th. Luke Mossey is currently 10th in the Championship.
Snetterton proved a positive weekend for the Eazi-Grip™ team who are pleased to extend sponsorship to the THM ePayMe Yamaha team. The THM Motorsport will be using Eazi-Guard™ to protect their R1’s at Thruxton. Also back on board this season is Howie Mainwaring Smart of Smiths Racing BMW. We look forward to Round 6 of the MCE British Superbike Championship at Thruxton, July 22-24.
