Kyle Ryde is the fastest overall at the BSB Navarra test

Kyle Ryde topped the final Bennetts British Superbike Championship pre-season R&G Official Test at Circuito de Navarra as the pace intensified in the final session ahead of this weekend’s opening round with the top 13 riders covered by less than a second.

Ryde instantly went faster than yesterday’s best time just four laps into the morning session as the OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing Team moved back ahead. Glenn Irwin and the Hager PBM Ducati team responded as they then moved back to the top of the times, but Ryde was able to deliver an even faster lap, to put him 0.185s ahead of Irwin at the chequered flag.

Ryde’s fastest lap of the test is 1.212s faster than the Official Test last year at the Spanish circuit following the recent track upgrades including partial resurfacing and the reprofiled turn six.

Irwin split the OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing riders as Ryan Vickers held third, remaining ahead of Leon Haslam who overcame his crashes yesterday to end the final day of testing as the leading BMW for the ROKiT Haslam Racing BMW Motorrad team.

Danny Kent completed the top five for the McAMS Racing Yamaha team, holding off Josh Brookes who led the FHO Racing BMW Motorrad Team charge in sixth place.

Andrew Irwin was the fastest of the Honda Racing UK riders, 0.29s ahead of his teammate and reigning champion Tommy Bridewell, who had a crash this morning at turn one. Peter Hickman and Jason O’Halloran completed the top ten.
