Stefano Manzi, 1’33.743 | +0,216 | P2: “It’s great to be back on track. I really enjoyed the first test with the team in Portimão, so I wanted nothing more than to get back on the bike so soon. I immediately felt good on the bike from the first lap this morning and was immediately fast. We had a successful first day of testing here at Phillip Island. Tomorrow we will continue in the same way to prepare as well as
possible for the upcoming race weekend at Phillip Island. Thanks to the guys in the team for the great work!”
Jorge Navarro, 1’35.921 | + 2,394 | P15: “It’s great to continue our preparations for the season here in these conditions. The first day was quite difficult in terms of my feeling with the bike, but we understand the Ten Kate Yamaha better and better. We definitely expect to make another step tomorrow. The positive aspect is that my physical condition is getting better and better and I am less and less bothered by my injured leg. I’m looking forward to tomorrow, a day in which we hope to continue our progress.”
Kervin Bos, Ten Kate Racing Yamaha team manager: “I think we can speak of a successful first day of testing at Phillip Island. The weather conditions were fantastic and we actually experienced no significant problems in what is the third day for our two newcomers in the team. Stefano [Manzi] managed to carry on his strong performance from Portimão straight away and was fast right from the start. Jorge [Navarro] also managed to improve considerably compared to the first test, despite his limitations that he still has to deal with. The potential is definitely there, but his injury still needs some time.”
