Ten Kate Racing looks forward to sunny race weekend at Motorland Aragon

This weekend the tenth round of the FIM Supersport World Championship will be held at Motorland Aragón. For Stefano Manzi and Jorge Navarro it is a circuit they both know well, also Ten Kate Racing has tested there recently. The aim for the weekend will be to battle it out again and close the gap in the championship.

The 5.077-kilometre Motorland Aragón has been on the World Superbike calendar since 2011 and has since become a regular fixture. The circuit, located in the north-east of Spain, is characterised by the elevation changes, the recognisable wall and the long straight that connects to start/finish with a long double left-hander. Like in Magny-Cours, weather forecasts indicate that the sun will again shine all weekend. However, temperatures will be a lot more pleasant than during the French race weekend.

With Stefano Manzi, Ten Kate Racing is 60 points behind the leader in the World Supersport championship. That is certainly not an easy margin to bridge but with six races to go this season anything is still possible, so there will be no lack of commitment from both the team, the Italian and his teammate Jorge Navarro.

Stefano Manzi: “I am looking forward to spend another weekend with the team. After just one week off I am happy to be back on the bike again this weekend. We will also have back-to-back races and for me it’s good to stay in the rhythm, too much time off the bike is a bit boring. I am looking forward to get back to action on Friday and hopefully my speed will be there straight away, then we’ll see what we can do. As always I will do my very best.”

Jorge Navarro: “Finally this weekend will be another home round for me. The last four circuits we raced at were new for me so it will be nice to race somewhere familiar again. A couple of weeks ago we already had a good test at Motorland Aragón so we arrive with a positive mindset and an objective to work hard from the beginning, then we’ll see what the weekend will bring us.”

Kervin Bos – Ten Kate Racing team manager: “Another race weekend is coming up and this time it’s two rounds in a row. That is always special and it brings some extra frenzy, besides that a lot can happen in the championship in a short time. We hope to win races in the coming rounds because we are slowly moving towards the climax of the championship.

There are three rounds to go with six races in total and at the moment there is a gap between us and the championship leader, but we are not going to give up until it is over. Both riders are combative and prior to this weekend at Motorland Aragón we tested here, I think both Stefano and Jorge can be very fast. We go into the weekend feeling positive and looking forward to starting again.”

The race weekend at Motorland Aragon begins on Friday with two free practice sessions, followed by the Superpole session on Saturday morning at 10:25am. Race 1 kicks off Saturday afternoon at 15:15 with the start of Race 2 on Sunday afternoon at 12:30.
