Ten Kate Racing looking to end first half of the season on a high in Most

This weekend the sixth round of the FIM Supersport World Championship will take place at the Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic. It’s the second time the WorldSBK paddock travels to the Czech track where a lot of work has been done in the last year to improve the track and its facilities.

Ten Kate Racing heads to Most with confidence after winning the last nine World Supersport races with Dominique Aegerter. The reigning World Supersport champion is in top form and will again do everything in his power to increase the 64-point lead in the championship.

Ten Kate Racing tested at the Autodrom Most with Leonardo Taccini last month in preparation for this race weekend. After making some major adjustments during the race weekend at Donington Park, the Italian has made significant improvements and the goal will again be to score points for the team from Nieuwleusen.

There will also be a third Yamaha YZF-R6 in the Ten Kate Racing pitbox this weekend because of a wild-card appearance. Czech rider Patrik Homola will make his debut in the World Supersport class on a Ten Kate Racing prepared machine and will therefore also receive support from the team.

Dominique Aegerter: “I have good memories from last year in Most with a victory and a second place. I know the track already since I was riding in the German IDM championship but that’s a very long time ago. They resurfaced the first part of the track so this will be new for us. Some riders, including my teammate, went testing here but we will work hard to be on the pace already on Friday. We are in a very good moment right now with winning the last nine races and a second place in the first five rounds of the season. It almost feels a bit surreal but I hope we can continue in this way. Again, the target is to extend our lead in the championship. I’m happy to see the team again and can’t wait to ride my R6.”

Leonardo Taccini: “For the race weekend in Most, I think we have to continue in the way we have been working in Donington Park. We were improving there and every session things went better and better. I’m not really sure what to expect from the weekend in Most but the target is just to keep improving and try to achieve my best finishes of the season so far.”

Kervin Bos – Ten Kate Racing team manager: “This weekend in Most we have the last races before the summer break and we are looking forward to it for several reasons. First of all, Dominique was very fast and strong there last year and he is in great form at the moment. Secondly, we tested there with Leonardo last month and it looks like we made a big step with him in the last race weekend. Therefore hope to score well with both riders.

In addition, we have a wild-card project running so the team will have a big presence. We are looking forward to competing in Most, the last race before the summer break. Furthermore, we have some nice activities during the summer break including the Jack’s Racing Day at the TT Circuit Assen where we will go with Dominique: we hope to see many Dutch fans there. After that, the team will take a small holiday to create the plans for 2023.”
