Ten Kate Racing fully prepared for season restart and WorldSSP French round

This weekend the ninth round of the FIM Supersport World Championship will take place at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours. After a five-week summer break, the season resumes at the iconic French track with Stefano Manzi leading the championship standings. Yuki Okamoto also makes his return to the Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing team after the injury he sustained at Donington Park.

Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours is a permanent fixture on the World Superbike calendar and one of the most popular race weekends of the year. The circuit always delivers exciting races and presents a true challenge for both rider and machine.

With eight of the twelve race weekends in 2025 completed, two-thirds of the World Supersport season is already behind us. Thanks to 12 podium finishes in 16 races – including seven victories – Stefano Manzi holds a 59-point lead in the standings. The final four race weekends of the season will take place in just seven weeks, making consistency and avoiding mistakes absolutely crucial.

Just under eight weeks ago, Yuki Okamoto suffered a serious injury during the Superpole session at Donington Park. Since then, the Japanese rider has undergone an intensive recovery program and was able to participate in the Magny-Cours test two weeks ago. As a result, Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing will once again be at full strength this weekend in France.

Stefano Manzi:
“Finally it is time to go racing again. The summer break was a bit long but I was able to do a lot of training and keep riding bikes. We also had a two-day test at Magny-Cours two weeks ago, so the circuit is still fresh in our minds. We need to make sure we keep the momentum we had before the summer break, and try to extend our lead in the championship again. I am looking forward to start working with the team.”

Yuki Okamoto:
“I am very happy to be back racing again in Magny-Cours after my crash at Donington Park. I am looking forward to work with the team again. I still have some pain in my shoulder so the rehabilitation isn’t fully completed yet. I know there is not so much time because these final four races are coming in a short period, but I will work hard to be fit. Fortunately, Magny-Cours isn’t new for me anymore because we tested there two weeks ago. I think this will help me to be faster during the race weekend.”

Kervin Bos – Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing team manager:
“It’s finally time to go racing again after a long break, and Magny-Cours is a weekend we are all looking forward to. The team was able to prepare very well last week with a two-day test at Magny-Cours, where both Stefano and Yuki showed great pace. They are ready to start this final part of the season strongly. The weather conditions are always unpredictable at Magny-Cours, but I believe we can be fast in all circumstances. We are eager to get back to racing and resume the season.”

  • The race weekend at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours begins with free practice on Friday morning, followed by the Superpole session at 16:00 in the afternoon, which will determine the starting grid for Race 1.
  • After a warm-up session on Saturday morning, the first race over 19 laps will take place at 15:15 in the afternoon.
  • On Sunday morning there will be another warm-up session, with Race 2 over 19 laps starting at 14:00.
