Ten Kate Racing are confident heading into the final part of WorldSSP season

This upcoming weekend the eleventh round of the FIM Supersport World Championship will take place at the Circuito Estoril in Portugal. With a 60-point lead in the championship, Stefano Manzi has his first opportunity to secure the 2025 world title together with Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing.

The 4.18-kilometre long Circuito Estoril features nine right-hand corners, four left-hand corners, and a straight of nearly one kilometre. It marks the second visit to Portugal this season, and thanks to its layout often produces exciting races.

After ten race weekends Stefano Manzi sits on 380 points, holding a 60-point advantage over his direct – and only – rival in the title fight. With four races remaining in 2025, a maximum of 100 points are still available, giving the Italian his first chance to clinch the 2025 World Supersport crown this weekend.

For teammate Yuki Okamoto, it will once again be a learning-focused race weekend. The Japanese rider has never raced on the demanding Portuguese circuit before, but in previous rounds he has shown his ability to adapt quickly over the course of a weekend.

Stefano Manzi:
“I am happy that it’s time for another race week, and a double header this time. Aragón was not bad because in the end we finished on the podium twice, but to be honest I was expecting a bit more from myself. I would like to be back on the top step this weekend and the next one. We will work hard to achieve that and remain focused to doing our job. I think a good result will come if we do our work well.”

Yuki Okamoto:
“After Aragón, I have been working more on the recovery of my shoulder. Fortunately it is getting better, day by day. I am looking forward to ride at Estoril for the first time, although I think it will be difficult for me. Together with the team I will push hard and try to achieve a good result.”

Kervin Bos – Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing team manager:
“We are ready for the season finale with the only double-header of this year. Estoril and Jerez have been very good to us in recent seasons with Stefano. The team has been able to prepare down to the smallest detail for the races where so much is at stake. We are confident and looking forward to getting started.”

  • The race weekend at Circuito Estoril begins with a free practice session on Friday morning, followed in the afternoon at 13:55 local time (14:55 CEST) by the Superpole session, which will determine the grid for Race 1.
  • After a warm-up session on Saturday morning, Race 1 will take place at 12:35 local time (13:35 CEST) over 18 laps.
  • On Sunday morning there will again be a warm-up session, before Race 2 starts at 12:35 local time (13:35 CEST), also over 18 laps.
