Somkiat Chantra scores first MotoGP point and Johann Zarco finishes in the points at MotoGP Assen

#5 Johann Zarco – 10th (1’31.776) – Practice
“I’m happy to go straight into Q2, I missed that feeling in the last two races. The start of the day wasn’t easy due to the low temperatures, and we couldn’t work the way we wanted, which made things tricky to manage. This weekend, we really need to pay attention to tyre choice with the weather conditions we’re facing. The plan is to try and repeat the good feeling from today. For sure, we’ll aim to get the best possible result in qualifying and the Sprint.”
#35 Somkiat Chantra – 21st (1’33.114) – Practice
“It was a positive day, riding the MotoGP bike in Assen for the first time. In the afternoon, we made some changes to the electronics and I felt better. I hope we can take a step forward tomorrow and keep improving. I really like this circuit!”
#5 Johann Zarco – 11th – Sprint
“I’m happy because in the Sprint I had a good start, and this is positive. I overtook riders since the beginning, and that means we’ve made progress. I gained positions, was able to fight, and gave my best. I wanted to stay with the top 10, but it was hard; we need to better understand our limits. For tomorrow, with many laps on the tyre and good traction control, I could have an advantage. We’ll stay focused and probably go with the medium rear. We’ll see, it’s going to be another tough fight.”
#35 Somkiat Chantra – 19th – Sprint
“It was my first Sprint in Assen. I did my best to follow my rivals, especially Aleix Espargaro, who has a lot of experience and is also an HRC test rider, because I wanted to learn from his lines and riding style. Lap by lap, I picked up small details that helped me improve. It was a tough race, but I felt some progress. We’ll keep pushing to do better tomorrow!”
#5 Johann Zarco – 12th – Race
“Despite a tough weekend, grabbing points feels rewarding. We wanted to improve, but we didn’t nail the job. We need to better understand the situation to turn things around. I was aiming for a top-10 finish, but it wasn’t easy. Of course, scoring points is important, especially after the recent results, but we need to get back to where we were a few weeks ago. We’ll try again at the Sachsenring.”
#35 Somkiat Chantra – 15th – Race
“Getting my first point in the MotoGP championship is very special. I’d like to thank Aleix Espargaró, riding behind him helped me understand many things, and I learned a lot. I pushed hard to score points, and we finally achieved it. Many thanks to the team and to Takaaki Nakagami for their work and support this weekend!”
