Scott Redding claimed victory in the second ZYN British Superbike Championship race of the weekend at Snetterton in an incident-packed race, which saw Kyle Ryde and Bradley Ray collide, with the McAMS Yamaha rider crashing out at Riches.

At the start, Redding hit the front of the pack from Cook and Ryde with Ray holding fourth, but as the pack approached Wilson for the first time there was an incident involving Leon Haslam, Josh Brookes and Ilya Mikhalchik with the three riders crashing out.

The BMW Safety Car was deployed following the incident and the race was then resumed on lap three with Redding holding off his rivals on the restart. The Hager PBM Racing Team rider was holding off the chasing pack, which became a four-way battle between Redding, Ryde, Cook and Ray.

Redding was holding strong to the chequered flag, but behind Ray had made a move on Cook to go into third at Riches on lap six and then had Ryde in his sights.

McAMS Yamaha’s Ray made his move on reigning champion Ryde at Murrays to move into second on lap nine, but as the pair approached Riches for the next time there was contact between the pair as Ryde bid to regain the position, sending Ray crashing out at high-speed.

Ryde was issued a long lap penalty for the incident, he crossed the line in second place on track ahead of Cook, but he was issued a three-second time equivalent penalty, which demoted him to third place.

It was an impressive comeback from Rory Skinner in the race. The Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha started 19th on the grid and carved his way through to fourth to finish ahead of Christian Iddon and rookie Joe Talbot.

Danny Kent secured seventh ahead of Jason O’Halloran with Lee Jackson recovering from a pitlane start to finish in ninth. Eugene McManus had his best result of his rookie campaign so far in tenth place.

Storm Stacey was again forced to retire from the action on the Bathams AJN Racing Ducati on lap nine.
