Rory Skinner and Davey Todd are race winners at Knockhill for Cheshire Mouldings BMW

Rory Skinner scored his first ever British Superbike Championship victory earlier today on home soil, at Knockhill aboard the Cheshire Mouldings BMW M1000RR.

Having taken second place on Saturday, the Scottish ace from Perth, went one better in race two on Sunday. A fourth place in the third and final outing rounded off a strong weekend for Skinner and TAS Racing.

Davey Todd arrived at Knockhill unbeaten this season on the Cheshire Mouldings BMW in the 1000cc Superstock class. He overcame intermittent electrical problems in race one to finish second, but went one better during today’s outing – extending his lead in the championship to 25 points.

Rory Skinner: “To get my debut BSB win at Knockhill is pretty special. It’s been a great weekend with 2-1-4 finishes in tough conditions. Normally there’s a lot of pressure at my home round, but I just relaxed this weekend, hung out with friends and it all came together. Thanks to the team for a great package with the Cheshire Mouldings M1000RR. It worked perfectly.”

Davey Todd: “Another win and a second place to extend my championship lead, so it’s been a positive weekend for both myself and the team. We were hampered slightly in race one with a small issue and I believe it cost me the win, but the boys sorted the issue and the bike was faultless today. Back on the top step. Thanks to the team for all the hard work in tough conditions this weekend.”

Steve Plater, Team Manager: “The weather made it tough this weekend for everyone but both Rory and Davey rode superbly. We are delighted for Rory to come back so strongly after his injury, and to get his debut BSB win at Knockhill – we know is something special for him. Davey was his usual consistent self. Coming back to BSB after the TT can be a tough transition but he showed his class this weekend. A great weekend all round for Cheshire Mouldings BMW.”
