The final round of the Espana Superbike Championship (ESBK), held at Circuit de Jerez, Spain, presented a different challenge for Qabil Irfan. The race weekend saw intense competition from many riders, as it was the final race of the 2025 season.
Qabil began the weekend with FP1 and FP2 sessions, showing consistent performance and a pace capable of challenging in the races. However, during the Qualifying session, which took place on a wet track, Qabil’s bike experienced technical issues, and he finished qualifying in 17th position, meaning he would start Race 1 from the 17th grid slot.
In Race 1, which took place in good weather conditions, Qabil made an excellent start. As soon as the lights went out, he surged to Turn 1 and moved up to 9th position. By lap 2, Qabil was leading the front group, with a very tight battle continuing until the finish line. The positions for 3rd and 4th had to be decided by a photo finish, which favoured Qabil, earning him a podium in 3rd place.
In Race 2, Qabil started from 3rd on the grid and once again had a strong start. This race proved even more challenging, as other riders were aggressive and fast from the outset. There were numerous overtaking manoeuvres throughout the race. Qabil led or was at the front several times, and on the final lap, the leading group of 10 riders battled fiercely through every corner to the finish line. Qabil finished Race 2 in 4th place, closing the 2025 season as the overall champion of the Espana Superbike Championship in the ESBK Talent category.
Qabil Irfan: “Race 2 was tough from start to finish. I didn’t have the luck for the podium this time, but I really enjoyed it because all the riders were aggressive and fast, I had a lot of fun. I want to say a huge thank you to KBS, SIC, Terengganu Inc, RCB, and ZK Racing for their support throughout the 2025 season, as well as to all my other sponsors and supporters.”
Zulfahmi Khairuddin: “The ESBK Talent season with Qabil Irfan has now concluded. Overall, it has been a very successful season for Qabil with 6 wins, 2 second-place finishes, and 3 third-place finishes, showing remarkable consistency. We won the championship, and congratulations to Qabil and his family. Thanks also to the VHC team for always giving their best to ensure Qabil became champion this year.”
