PTR Triumph ready to race at Misano as WorldSSP Championship hits mid-point

PTR Triumph is set to arrive at the iconic Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli this weekend for the next round of the 2025 FIM Supersport World Championship, marking the halfway point in what has already been a thrilling season of racing.

After a difficult outing last time at Most, Tom Booth-Amos is determined to bounce back and deliver another strong performance in Italy to boost title hopes.

Tom Booth-Amos: “I’m looking forward to getting back racing after a couple of weeks off and get back to our usual speed after a disappointing Most weekend.”

Teammate Oli Bayliss meanwhile, arrives with momentum on his side following two solid points finishes at the previous round.  His focus is now on improving qualifying pace to give himself the best possible chance in the races.

Oli Bayliss: “I’m keen to get back racing in Misano – one of my favourite tracks on the calendar – and it has always been a good place for me.  We left Most with a really good feeling on the bike so we’ll start from there and see how we go.”

PTR Triumph Racing Factory Team Manager Simon Buckmaster: “Most obviously wasn’t the best round for us with Tom – our worst result of the season –  but we have been working hard on improvements we can do to the bike during this gap and we will work on some areas there.  From Oli’s point of view it was a good step forward, ok without the double long lap penalty in race two, we can see real progression there and we are confident we will see him fighting well inside the top ten this weekend in Misano.  It’s all about qualifying, we need to improve this with him to give him the chance to get the results.  So we will turn it around with Tom, it’s going to be really hot weather in Misano, there will be tough competition, that is what we expect in World Supersport and we are looking forward, so let’s see what we can do.”

World Supersport action kicks off with Free Practice on Friday at 09:40 (local time).
