On the back of a career best performance last time out at Magny-Cours, PTR Triumph’s Tom Booth-Amos is keen to keep the momentum going as the team make their first visit to Cremona in Italy this weekend for round nine of the 2024 FIM Supersport World Championship.
Booth-Amos is looking to build on the positive test the team completed back in May at the 3.7km track as the intense, final rounds of the season get underway.
Tom Booth-Amos: “After our best weekend of the year we’re looking to carry on the progress made in France this weekend. I feel really good on the bike at the moment so I can’t wait to get started at Cremona.”
Although this is the first time the Cremona circuit has appeared on the WorldSBK calendar, Ondrej Vostatek is also familiar with the tight and twisty Italian track having spent some time there track day riding. After a much stronger showing in France, the Czech rider arrives to Italy in a confident mood.
Ondrej Vostatek: “I had a track day testing in Cremona and I did a time that was really close to the top of the official tests. Also I graduated so I now have more time for training. I like this track even though there seems to be a lot of people who don’t.”
PTR Triumph Team Manager Simon Buckmaster: “We come to Cremona after Toms best result of the season at Magny-Cours in fourth and even though he was just outside the points in sixteenth, a much-improved performance from Ondrej. It’s a difficult track for everybody, a small venue. We have tested here and because no one has ever raced here before, there is no real expectation, just that we come here in a confident way. We are looking forward to continue with a good run of results in the last part of the season.”
