PTR Triumph are ready to return to racing at Magny-Cours

After the long summer break, FIM Supersport World Championship action is back this weekend at Magny-Cours in France with round nine of the 2025 season.

Australian rider Oli Bayliss underlined his growing credibility in World Supersport with a career-best fourth place at Balaton Park before the break, showcasing his determination and progress in the category. Bayliss now heads to Magny-Cours, one of his favoured circuits, looking to continue his strong form and push for another step forward.

Oli Bayliss: “After a long break I’m keen to get back into racing. Magny-Cours is a really nice track and I think it can suit this bike. Hopefully we can pick back up where we left off and keep the momentum rolling.”

Teammate Tom Booth-Amos returns to action in France with renewed focus. Following a challenging weekend in Hungary the British rider is eager to reset and bounce back at Magny-Cours, a track that holds special significance for him. It was here last year that his World Supersport career really began to gather momentum, highlighted by a superb fourth-place finish, his best result at the time. With those positive memories, Booth-Amos is determined to fight at the sharp end once again.

Tom Booth-Amos: “After a long summer break I’m excited to get back racing. I’m heading to France feeling confident that we can finish the season off strong.”

PTR Triumph Racing Factory Team Manager Simon Buckmaster: “We are heading to Magny-Cours, the last third of the season with four rounds to go in reasonably quick succession after the summer break. For Oli on the back of his best ever result in WorldSSP obviously we want to carry that on, he has been making progress and it’s fantastic for him. A very disappointing round in Balaton Park for Tom with a couple of crashes, it just didn’t work. He and I have sat down and discussed everything, we know what we’ve got to do. We have to be realistic, we’d have to be very lucky to win the championship now. If it comes our way, fine but we do really want to finish third. That is the aim and we would like to achieve it. It is well within Tom’s capability so Magny-Cours is the first of those races and it was very strong round for him last year so he can arrive there with confidence. We want another strong ride for Oli and to do what we need to for Tom to finish third in the championship.”

World Supersport action from Magny-Cours kicks off with Free Practice on Friday at 11:20 (local time).
