Making the midway point of the 2024 season, PTR Triumph arrive at the Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic for the sixth round of the FIM Supersport World Championship this weekend.
In front of a record home crowd at Donington Park last week, Tom Booth-Amos delivered a season best result of fifth place and the British rider is looking to maintain that momentum at the fast and flowing 4.21km track.
Tom Booth-Amos: “After our best weekend of the year we can only look to carry that on into this weekend at Most. I’m feeling positive after all the work everyone’s been putting in.”
Teammate Czech rider Ondrej Vostatek, will be hoping for a happy home round after a disappointing Donington Park weekend where he was suffering from the effects of a high-speed crash in the Tissot Superpole session. Vostatek is keen to score points in front of his home crowd.
Ondrej Vostatek: “I’m really excited for my home round. I have some laps around here and we expect good racing from me. We know what we need to improve on from Donington. I want to score points.”
PTR Triumph Team Manager Simon Buckmaster: “Really good result for Tom at Donington. Obviously we want more. I believe there is going to be a change in the balancing to pull Ducati back a bit. It’s very necessary. Will it be enough? We don’t know so we have had a good result and we need to follow that up, we want to build on what we have done. With Ondrej we have discussed at length that he is just, in effect, trying too hard and he needs to remain calm and not let passion overtake cool calm thinking. It’s his home round so it will be difficult to remain calm but he needs to if he wants to succeed and get back into the points.”
World Supersport action kicks off at Most with Free Practice on Friday at 11:20 (local time).
