Points in MotoGP Japan for Zarco and Chantra in the main race for LCR Honda

#5 Johann Zarco – 10th (1’43.734) – Practice
”I’m happy to secure Q2 on the last lap. I managed to do a good lap behind Jorge Martin. This afternoon I received a new package that works really well, although it’s different. It’s not easy to find the best setup straight away, but we had a good session and we’ll have more information tomorrow. I’m pleased to be in Q2, and we’re ready for tomorrow.”
#35 Somkiat Chantra – 18th (1’43.911) – Practice
“In the morning, it wasn’t bad, and I tried to improve lap by lap. We put the soft tyre in during the afternoon because we were inside the top 10 at some point in the session, and I wanted to reach Q2. The Misano test setup helped us, and everything went well; we’ve made a step forward. Tomorrow we’ll face Q1, but we are strong here. About the crash, I’m fine; these things happen when you’re pushing. We’re ready for tomorrow!”
#5 Johann Zarco – DNF – Sprint
“I had a good start, but I was unlucky to be caught in the middle of the collision. It was scary seeing Martin between the bikes and seeing Bezzecchi get hit, and I was fortunate. Then I was in last position and tried to recover as much as possible. At the beginning, I had a decent pace, but following the rest of the rivals was quite difficult. I wanted to keep a good rhythm, but I felt I was at the limit. I made some mistakes and didn’t want to end up in the gravel, so I decided to stop.”
#35 Somkiat Chantra – 17th – Sprint
“Today’s Sprint was demanding. The start was good, but managing the fuel and the tyres was tricky. Early on, the tyre overheated, which made things difficult, and I felt a lot of spinning. The team is now analyzing everything to improve ahead of tomorrow. I feel really strong in the braking zones of sector two, and I’m really enjoying that part.”
#5 Johann Zarco – 9th – Race
“I’m very pleased with this result! Finishing ninth is a real relief because we needed these points after some difficult races. I made a strong start and had the pace to fight for the top 10. I was just missing a bit of speed to get closer to the top 8, but overall it was a solid race and that’s what matters. I could defend my position, make some good overtakes, and really enjoy riding. We now head to Indonesia with confidence and strong motivation.”
#35 Somkiat Chantra – 15th – Race
“Today’s race was really good. I enjoyed it and I’m happy because I felt comfortable with the bike’s setup and managed to be in the fight. I wanted to catch and overtake Oliveira, but at the same time I didn’t want to take risks and lose the points. It’s been a really positive weekend for me, and I want to thank the team for their hard work!”
