This coming weekend, the Dutch round of the FIM Supersport World Championship will take place at the TT Circuit Assen. For Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing, it marks the perfect occasion to celebrate its 25^th anniversary, which includes a special livery.

Following the season opener at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit and the first European round in Portimão, the championship heads to Assen this weekend. For the Nieuwleusen-based team this is a true home race, where numerous activities are traditionally organised for sponsors, partners and guests, who attend in large numbers.

This year’s race weekend in Assen has an extra special touch as Ten Kate Racing celebrates its 25^th anniversary. Over these 25 years, the Dutch team has secured no fewer than thirteen world titles—twelve in the World Supersport class and one in the World Superbike category. Therefore, Can Öncü and Yuki Okamoto will line up for the two races on Saturday and Sunday afternoon sporting a special livery.

Can Öncü:
“I am so happy that we will be racing again this weekend, and that it’s the team’s home round. We did a lot of work to prepare ourselves for this weekend, and I believe we did so very well. We are ready for the weekend and hopefully we can achieve the best possible results in both races.”

Yuki Okamoto:
“This weekend will be the team’s home race and I am looking forward to return to Assen. I am looking forward to work with my team again and I will give it my all to give a strong result. I still have a lot to learn but we will keep improving step by step.”

“The Assen race weekend is coming up again, and it always remains special for Ten Kate Racing. This year will be even more special as we celebrate our 25^th anniversary. The team has been active in the world championship since 2001, and we will mark that this weekend with many memorable moments. On Friday evening, we will unveil our special livery for the races on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, we will host our annual VIP dinner, where we will look back on all the seasons from 2001 to 2026. It will be a lively gathering, with Gerrit ten Kate and Ronald ten Kate sharing stories with those in attendance.

We recently tested at the TT Circuit Assen, and both riders were fast and consistent. We are confident that, thanks to the strong preparation made possible at this circuit, we can turn our season around this weekend. It will be a special weekend both on and off the track, and we are all very much looking forward to it.”

The race weekend at the TT Circuit Assen begins with a free practice session on Friday morning, followed by the Superpole session at 16:00 in the afternoon. After a warm-up session on Saturday morning, Race 1 will take place at 14:00. Sunday follows the same schedule, with a morning warm-up and Race 2 at 14:00.
