Manzi and Ten Kate Racing enter final WorldSSP round in Jerez as 2025 World Champions

The twelfth and final round of the FIM Supersport World Championship will take place this weekend at the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto in Spain. Just days after winning the World Supersport Championship title, Stefano Manzi and Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing will line up one last time together to close out a remarkable season in style.

Fresh off their thirteenth world title, Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing travelled straight from Estoril to the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto, where the 2025 season will conclude. The southern Spanish circuit holds special memories for the team from Nieuwleusen — it was there, just one year ago, that their now-world champion Stefano Manzi perfectly ended the Yamaha YZF-R6 era with a dominant double victory.

Now, with the World Supersport title to his name, Manzi approaches his final race weekend in the category at the 4.42-kilometre circuit where he has extensive experience. Just like last year, the Italian aims to close another era in perfect fashion — this time, the end of his three-year journey with Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing in the World Supersport Championship.

For his teammate Yuki Okamoto, the weekend will once again be focused on learning, as the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto is another new track for him.

Stefano Manzi:
“It is super nice to have another race weekend straight away. The championship is in our pocket now and I’m very happy about it, the emotions are still on the moon. The thing I like the most is to race and fortunately there is another weekend ahead of us. I cannot wait to get going again, but for sure I’m a bit sad because it will be my last one in World Supersport with Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing before I go to World Superbike. It is very difficult to leave this fantastic and amazing team after three years. I want to enjoy this weekend as much as I can and say goodbye to them in the best possible way.”

Yuki Okamoto:
“I am looking forward to the Jerez round as I have never been there before. This is also the first time in my career to have back-to-back races. I am confident that it will be a better weekend than Estoril and together with the team I will keep moving forward.”

Kervin Bos – Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing team manager:
“It’s hard to believe it’s already the final race weekend of the season. We’ll be racing in Jerez, and of course, it will be a very special weekend following the world title win last week. We travelled straight from Estoril to Jerez, where we have a fantastic and eventful weekend ahead. On Friday, we’ll host an event for many of our partners, associates, and sponsors, and on Saturday, we’ll unveil our special livery that we’ll race with on Sunday. This project is a collaboration with Yamaha Motor Europe, and both Stefano and Yuki will race in those striking colours.

We have plenty of activities lined up, and we hope to end our three-year collaboration with Stefano in a truly fitting way. The title is secured, so he can now ride with full freedom. The way he handled the pressure in Estoril was exceptional, and I think we’ll see an outstanding Manzi this weekend.

For Yuki, this will once again be a new track, and we hope to continue making progress every day. We know it’s an enormous challenge for someone coming to Europe for the first time and learning all these circuits, but he’s coping very well. We’ll keep guiding him step by step and make it an unforgettable weekend together with everyone in the team.”

  • The race weekend at Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto begins with Free Practice on Friday morning, followed by the Superpole session at 16:00 in the afternoon, which will determine the starting grid for Race 1.
  • After the morning warm-up on Saturday, Race 1 will take place at 15:15 and will run over 17 laps.
  • Sunday begins with another warm-up session, followed by Race 2 — the season finale — which will also be held over 17 laps, starting at 15:30.
