Johann Zarco has a disappointing weekend at Aragon

#5 Johann Zarco – 6th (1’47.058) – Practice
“It was an interesting day. This afternoon, the track conditions changed, and I didn’t feel great on the bike. However, it’s good to have had that margin even in tricky conditions, that’s encouraging! The other bikes were struggling too, so that gives us a direction for tomorrow. I think our bike has some strong points, and we managed to do a good job. We’ll try to repeat it tomorrow, secure a good grid position, and be ready for the Sprint.”
#35 Somkiat Chantra – 21st (1’48.501) – Practice
“Today was a solid day. We analyzed the data, and I improved in the braking areas. The grip coming out of some corners wasn’t ideal, but we were close. There’s one sector where I’m losing a lot of time, if I can take a step forward there tomorrow, we can do a better job.”
#5 Johann Zarco – 16th – Sprint
“It’s been a tough Sprint. I wanted to do better, but it was a difficult day. I had already struggled in qualifying, and during the race, I couldn’t ride the way I wanted. I did my best, but it wasn’t easy. We know this is a particular track, and we’ll analyze everything this evening to get a broader view and understand why we weren’t in the game this weekend. Improving how the bike turns is something we need to focus on at this track.”
#35 Somkiat Chantra – 19th – Sprint
“At the beginning, I felt better, but then it became difficult to adapt to the bike’s lack of rear grip in the hot conditions. I experienced some issues throughout the race, as the track was hotter than yesterday, which didn’t help. Towards the end of the race, I understood some things that will help me improve tomorrow. We’ll try to take a step forward.”
#35 Somkiat Chantra – 16th – Race
“The race was pretty good, and I’m happy with how things went today. We tried a different setup and worked well as a team. We made a step forward and had more pace than yesterday. I managed to close the gap, so that’s a good sign. We’re moving in the right direction, and that’s positive. We’ll try again in Mugello!”
#5 Johann Zarco – DNF – Race
“Today, I had a good pace during the laps I completed and felt competitive enough to fight for a top 10 position. While trying to overtake Miller, the tyre temperature got too high due to the conditions we were facing on track, and I crashed. At least we learned something from that. I feel like I know the bike pretty well now. I can tell when things are working and when they aren’t, and that helps. Tomorrow’s test will be important. Overall, the strong results from recent weeks give me the confidence to accept that setbacks happen sometimes, and we always learn from every situation.”
