Johann Zarco finishes seventh after qualifying P2, DNF on Sunday at Sachsenring MotoGP

#5 Johann Zarco – 12th (1’19.964) – Practice
“It was a solid afternoon of work, with clear progress and much better control of the bike. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get the time attack, I hit the limit. I was frustrated to miss out on Q2, but it’s been a long time since I’ve had such a positive feeling on the bike. I’m confident we can continue refining the setup; it’s encouraging to have found this direction. I’m curious to see what we can achieve now that we’ve found some consistency. If it rains tomorrow, it could actually turn into an opportunity for us.”
#5 Johann Zarco – 7th – Sprint
“I was convinced that with less rain than in qualifying, the medium tyre would work better, but that wasn’t the case; it couldn’t get up to temperature. I’m frustrated because I had a real shot at the podium, maybe even the win, in these conditions. Rain is forecast again for tomorrow, so we’ll analyze everything and decide. At least we scored some points, and that’s important. Let’s see what happens tomorrow.”
#5 Johann Zarco – DNF – Race
“It’s a pity to end the weekend like this. After yesterday, I was aiming for a strong result, and we were fighting for good positions before the crash. Unfortunately, the front tyre didn’t reach the right temperature, and I went down. It’s a shame, because this weekend we had the feeling back and the potential to do a good job. We’ll try again next week in Brno!”
