Jason O’Halloran maintained his position at the top of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship official test times this afternoon, setting a time that was only 0.137s off the fastest time of the test so far, posted by the McAMS Yamaha rider before lunch.
Meanwhile though Josh Brookes closed to within 0.221s on the VisionTrack Ducati this afternoon, setting his best time of the test so far, with the team completing the top three on the timesheets with Christian Iddon moving up into third place at the chequered flag.
Glenn Irwin improved his best time from the morning by 0.247s to hold fourth place for the Honda Racing team, just ahead of Tarran Mackenzie, who had a small crash during the session before he was able to return to pitlane. The McAMS Yamaha rider had before that had a spell at the top during the session.
Xavi Forés was the leading rider on the all-new BMW M 1000 RR in session three; the Spaniard fired the FHO Racing BMW into sixth place just ahead of Kyle Ryde on the Rich Energy OMG Racing BMW, with SYNETIQ BMW pairing Danny Buchan and Andrew Irwin joining the BMW lockout in eighth and ninth place respectively.
Meanwhile Danny Kent was the leading Buildbase Suzuki rider in tenth place after just nudging Tommy Bridewell outside the top ten in the closing stages of the session.
