INCompetition Aprilia sees Brad Perie climb from P35 to P10 at Brands Hatch

It was a diverse weekend for the INCompetition Aprilia Racing team this weekend at the final round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch. Brad Perie had never ridden a Superstock machine around Brands and it is one of the most difficult circuits on the calendar to learn.

He soon got to grips with it and was putting in some fast times during the practice session. He continued to improve during qualifying and started the opening race from 8th place. He was building momentum in the race and was working his way up through the pack when disaster happened. At the fastest corner on the circuit, Hawthorn, Brad crashed out in massive ball of dust. Brad pirouetted into the safety fence, but the Aprilia disappeared off into the woods! Unfortunately, due to the very busy schedule they were unable to get the bike back to repair for race two, so they had to sit it out.

The heavens opened just before the final race on Sunday and once again Brad had no wet track time on the Aprilia at Brands, plus he was starting from 35th on the grid so everyone was unsure what would happen. He certainly had his race head on and ploughed his way through the pack and finished in an amazing 10th place, a fantastic achievement and great way to finish the season.

Brad – “It was a weekend like any other for me. We made great progress during practices on Friday, getting up to speed, testing new set-ups. We made huge steps forward with the Aprilia for qualifying but I didn’t maximise my lap.

I managed to get up to 5th at the start of the race and was feeling confident. Unfortunately, I had a very peculiar crash at the fastest part of the circuit. I’m very lucky to walk away relatively unscathed thanks to RST and Arai. A huge thank you as always to the BSB medics and marshalls.

I left the team with a lot of work to do on the bike as it didn’t survive very well! They worked tirelessly to get the Aprilia ready for Sunday and I can’t thank everyone enough for what they did.

I was sore, so I was glad it was raining for the race! However, starting at the back in those conditions didn’t make things easy. I got through to 10th from 35th which was amazing.

I didn’t see myself here at the start of the year but I’m glad Ian and Myra gave me this opportunity. The team are amazing; the Aprilia is a fantastic bit of kit to ride and I’m very grateful. I really wish everyone a great off season, and I hope we can put something together for a 2026 attack.”

Ian Newton – “It has been an absolute delight to welcome Brad into the team at the end of this season. It was a big challenge, but he worked hard at the three rounds and always improved every time out on the Aprilia, which is all we can ask.

The crash was unfortunate on Saturday, and Alex and Will-I-Am worked very hard to ensure we gave him the best we could for the final race on Sunday. He got an exceptional start, and you could tell he meant business. I know it wasn’t a win, but it felt like one watching him carve his way through a very competitive grid.

We are looking into a full return with the Aprilia in Superstocks in 2026 and further plans will be announced soon.”
