IN Competition Aprilia returned to Cadwell Park this weekend with the full team and both riders back in action, with Jack Bednarek competing in the Superstock class on the Aprilia RSV4 and Alfie Davidson taking on the Sportbike class aboard the Aprilia RS660.

It was a positive weekend for the team, with Jack producing two strong top-ten finishes on his return to the championship and Alfie continuing to build valuable points as he heads into the final two rounds with a 12-point championship lead.

Jack Bednarek – Superstock

After missing the previous round at Thruxton, Jack made a very welcome return at Cadwell Park and immediately showed strong pace in the Superstock class.

A good qualifying session saw Jack start the opening race from 13th on the grid. He made a strong start and quickly became involved in some close racing. After the safety car returned to the pits, Jack continued to push and was able to gain a couple of positions, eventually crossing the line in a fantastic 7th place.

Starting Race 2 from 8th, Jack again got away well and was running in 7th after the opening lap. As the rain began to fall, conditions became increasingly difficult and Jack slipped back a few positions, but he remained focused to bring the RSV4 home safely in 10th place.

It was an excellent comeback weekend and a great confidence boost for Jack and the whole team.

Jack Bednarek:

“This weekend was a big step forward for myself and the team. We were fast in all conditions sent in our direction. To get two top-ten finishes after the year we’ve had is brilliant.

Alfie Davidson – Sportbike

Alfie had a more challenging weekend as the team worked hard to find the ideal set-up for the Aprilia RS660.

Despite that, Alfie was just 0.2 seconds away from pole position and lined up 4th on the grid for the opening race. He lost some time at the start, making things harder for himself in the tricky conditions, but he worked hard to bridge the gap and made his way back towards the leading bunch.

The battle at the front was chaotic, with the leading group fighting hard for every position. Alfie spent much of the race running in fifth and ultimately brought the bike home in a solid 5th place, adding more important championship points to his tally.

With two rounds remaining, Alfie leaves Cadwell Park with a 12-point advantage in the championship standings.

Alfie Davidson:

“It was another weekend ticked off for the season and it was another decent finish.

It wasn’t what I wanted but it could have been worse. I struggled a bit through the final sector on the exit to the corners, but it wasn’t worth risking anything.

The Championship is all to play for now and I’m heading into my two strongest rounds. I’ll keep training hard over the next month before we go to Donington Park.”

Ian Newton – Team Owner

Team Owner Ian Newton was delighted with the performances of both riders and praised the continued hard work from the entire IN Competition Aprilia team.

“I’m extremely pleased with how both Jack and Alfie performed this weekend. Jack has struggled throughout the year on the Aprilia RSV4, but he turned it around this weekend and showed some great form. Two top-ten results is a great result.

Alfie is working very hard towards the Championship and it was certainly messy towards the front of that race. He gained some solid championship points and we are looking forward to the final two rounds of the season with both riders.

Looking Ahead

With just two rounds of the season remaining, the pressure is now firmly on as the team heads towards the final stages of the championship.

For Alfie, a 12-point championship advantage gives the team plenty to fight for, while Jack’s strong return at Cadwell Park provides a welcome boost heading into the final rounds.

The team now turns its attention to Donington Park, where both riders will be looking to build on the progress made at Cadwell Park.
