Round 7 of the 2025 FIM Supersport World Championship marks the start of the second half of the season and the team and British rider Tom Booth-Amos’ home round at Donington Park in the United Kingdom, just around the corner from the iconic Triumph factory.
Booth-Amos returns to his home circuit with unfinished business after his championship challenge was slightly derailed in Misano when he was taken out by another rider, robbing him of a likely victory in the second Supersport race. Determined to bounce back, he’s looking to harness the energy of the local crowd and deliver a strong result on familiar turf.
Tom Booth-Amos: “I’m looking forward to riding at home this weekend, always a special one for myself, Triumph and the team. Looking to bounce back after a tough Misano weekend.”
Australian teammate Oli Bayliss showed clear progress at Misano, adapting well and closing the gap to the front-runners. During the break, a wild-card ride in British Supersport at Snetterton yielded a podium too so with momentum building and happy memories of racing at Donington Park, Bayliss is eager to keep that upward trajectory.
Oli Bayliss: “A little bit of a break done and now Donington. I always really liked this track and enjoyed riding here. We had a pretty good test here so I’m keen to get the weekend underway. Hopefully Tom and I have a good weekend at his and the team’s home race.”
PTR Triumph Racing Factory Team Manager Simon Buckmaster: “We are heading into the second half of the season for our home round at Donington Park and we are excited to be competing in front of the home fans. We believe we will be fighting for the podium and the victories as we were in Misano before Tom was knocked off by Filipo Farioli. Not the first time he has done this, he took six people down in Australia and as a result at least two people missed rounds due to injury. Now he has done this, he seems to not know when there is something wrong with his bike so hopefully his team will have a word and give him some lessons in motorcycles and the organisers will pay attention to him and his actions in future. Oli had a strong points finish in the second race in Misano and a successful venture in the British Supersport which should help to build his confidence. We tested at Donington Park so both riders arrive as the only two riders who tested there. We are looking forward to a really good round and we hope the fans come out to see us.”
World Supersport action kicks off with Free Practice on Friday at 11:20 (local time).
