Hakim Danish is aiming to carry his positive momentum into the third round of the Moto3 World Championship at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas, this weekend.
After delivering an encouraging performance in Brazil last week, Hakim Danish is making comprehensive covering the physical, mental and technical aspects to face the challenge at COTA.
The Terengganu-born talent previously caught attention in Brazil by securing third place in qualifying to start from the front row, before finishing the race within the top ten to collect valuable points for his campaign this season.
Heading into the Austin round, the AEON Credit–MT Helmets–MSi rider is intensifying his efforts to refine his riding technique in order to tackle the distinctive characteristics of the COTA circuit, which features 20 challenging corners across a 5.513-kilometre layout.
According to Hakim Danish, his experience in Brazil marked an important turning point in boosting his confidence to perform more competitively.
Although he acknowledges that competition in the Moto3 class is becoming increasingly intense, Hakim Danish remains optimistic about improving his performance from the very first practice session on Friday and continuing to fight within the leading group.
At the same time, he hopes for continued support from Malaysians, which serves as strong motivation for him to secure more valuable points on the world stage.
Hakim Danish:
“This will be my first time racing at COTA, so it is a new experience and certainly a challenging one for me. The circuit is very technical, with 20 corners and several chicane sections that require a high level of focus and precision. Therefore, I need to adapt quickly.
I will try to get up to speed as soon as possible from the practice sessions so that I can maintain my pace and compete more strongly heading into qualifying.”
Zulfahmi Khairuddin:
“The circuit in the United States is a new track that Hakim Danish needs to learn. It presents a significant challenge for him, as this will be his first time racing here. The layout is very demanding and not easy to master, particularly in Sector 1 and Sector 2, which feature technical corners that require smooth riding and strong momentum.
However, I am confident that his strong result at the Brazilian GP has given Danish additional confidence heading into COTA. My hope is that he will be able to learn the characteristics of the circuit quickly and maintain the same level of performance he showed in Brazil.
In my view, looking at this year’s MotoGP calendar, this is the most difficult circuit to adapt to. I hope Danish can give his very best and be competitive from the very first day of the race weekend.”
