Malaysian Moto3 rider Hakim Danish Ramli is determined to maintain the momentum from his strong recovery at the San Marino Grand Prix and target a better result at the Austrian GP this weekend.
Arriving at the Red Bull Ring with high motivation, the 19-year-old rider is determined to ensure that the grid penalty he experienced at Misano is not repeated, while targeting an opportunity to start the race from the front group.
The AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSi rider previously demonstrated his ability with the machine by overtaking 13 riders from 25th on the grid to finish 12th, once again showing that he has the pace to compete with riders at the front.
Heading into the action at the Red Bull Ring, which is known for its long straights and technical corners, Zulfahmi Khairuddin’s protégé is fully focused on finding the best possible bike set-up from the opening Free Practice session in order to secure automatic qualification for Qualifying 2 (Q2).
The team will also continue to focus on the bike preparation and ensure that every practice session is maximised to help Hakim Danish build confidence and find his best performance throughout the race weekend.
With eight rounds remaining this season, Hakim Danish is determined to give his very best from qualifying through to race day as he looks to challenge for a return to the podium fight and further strengthen his position in the World Championship standings.
The team will continue to provide its full support to Hakim Danish to ensure all preparations run smoothly and that every opportunity to secure the best possible result at the Austrian GP is fully maximised.
Hakim Danish:
“I feel that my previous experience racing at the Red Bull Ring will help me a lot, as I already have an idea of the characteristics of the circuit and the areas that require the most attention.
However, the situation is different this time as we are competing in the Moto3 World Championship, where the racing is very competitive. I need to adapt to the bike and the current race conditions.
After the race in Misano, I feel more confident and my feeling with the bike is improving. I want to carry that momentum into Austria and try to have a stronger preparation from Free Practice onwards.
My main focus is to remain consistent throughout every session, avoid mistakes that could affect my grid position and secure a good starting position.
I will give my best in the race and aim to score as many points as possible to help improve my position in the championship.”
Zulfahmi Khairuddin:
“The Austrian Grand Prix this week, as always, we hope Danish can find a good feeling with the bike from the first Free Practice session (FP1).
Looking at the race in San Marino, it took him a little time to find his feeling and build his pace around the circuit. So, this time in Austria, we hope he can build his rhythm and find his pace as early as possible.
This is important because we want Danish to be competitive from FP1 onwards. If he can build a good rhythm from the beginning, it will help with his preparation for qualifying and the race.
Most importantly, Danish needs to stay focused, minimise mistakes and make the most of every opportunity. We believe he has the potential to compete closer to the front group, and our target is to bring home as many points as possible from Austria.”
