Hakim Danish Ramli produced a remarkable fighting performance after charging from 16th on the grid to finish seventh at the Dutch Grand Prix, having been promoted from 10th following post-race penalties for several riders ahead of him. The result earned him nine valuable championship points in the Moto3 World Championship at the TT Circuit Assen.

Hakim Danish made an aggressive start, moving up to eighth by the second lap before continuing his charge through the field to reach second place on lap seven. He remained firmly in contention with the leading group, trading positions several times with Spain’s David Almansa and Máximo Quiles, and climbed back into second place again on lap 11. With five laps remaining, Hakim Danish was still in the fight for a podium finish. However, a lack of rear tyre grip made it increasingly difficult for him to defend his position, allowing several rivals to overtake him in the closing stages.

Hakim Danish admitted he had to adopt a more cautious approach towards the end of the race, knowing that one mistake could have resulted in a crash and the loss of valuable championship points. The result lifts his tally to 82 points, moving him up to sixth in the overall Moto3 World Championship standings, level on points with Veda Pratama. In the Rookie of the Year classification, Hakim Danish also strengthened his hold on second place with 82 points, again tied with Pratama and just 20 points behind Spain’s Brian Uriarte.

The race at Assen was won by CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider Máximo Quiles, with David Almansa finishing second and Marco Morelli completing the podium. Hakim Danish will now turn his attention to the German Grand Prix, which takes place on 12 July.

Hakim Danish: “I managed to finish the race in seventh place today. It was a very challenging race, as I had to push at the limit on every lap right to the chequered flag.

I made a good start and worked my way through the field, overtaking one rider after another to get into the leading group. I also tried to chase down Máximo Quiles and David Almansa, but their pace was stronger than mine. In the final five laps, I started to struggle with rear tyre grip. I did my best to defend my position and stay in the fight for a podium, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough.

I will take this race as another valuable learning experience and continue working on the areas where I need to improve. I want to carry everything I’ve learned today into the next round. Overall, I’m pleased with my performance today and I can’t wait for the next race at Sachsenring.
