Final round, final victory for Danny Kent and McAMS Racing at Brands Hatch

The final weekend of the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship marked an emotional and triumphant finale for McAMS Racing and team owners Mar-Train Racing, as Danny Kent stormed to a stunning victory in the final race of the season at Brands Hatch.

The fairytale ending saw Kent add a fourth win of the year to McAMS Racing’s tally, elevating him two places in the overall championship standings to finish sixth.

The weekend began on a promising note, though not without its challenges. Despite a difficult Friday, Kent fought his way into Qualifying 2.

A tricky session on Saturday left him eighth on the grid for Race 1 – but he wasted no time charging forward, crossing the line fifth and collecting valuable points heading into Sunday’s action.

A few overnight set-up changes to the Yamaha R1 paid off immediately. Kent started Sunday with an impressive fourth place in warm-up, carrying that momentum into Race 2 where he missed out on the podium, finishing just 1.4 seconds off third.

The stage was set for the grand finale. As rain began to fall over Brands Hatch, Kent lined up on the front row for the last race of the year – and Mar-Train’s last in the premier class.

In familiar wet conditions, Kent wasted no time attacking for the lead. After briefly taking control on the opening lap, he reclaimed the top spot on lap five and never looked back, fending off intense pressure from championship contender Brad Ray to seal a memorable victory.

Over the past two seasons, the family-run McAMS Racing outfit has achieved 15 podium finishes and multiple race wins, including a spectacular double victory earlier this year at Thruxton.

As Mar-Train Racing closes this incredible chapter, their legacy as one of the leading independent teams in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship will live on – defined by determination, passion, and a fitting final victory.

Danny Kent
McAMS Racing, Rider

“What a weekend, and what a way to finish the season! To end the year and Mar-Train’s final race in BSB with a win is something really special. The team have worked tirelessly all year to give me the best bike possible, and I can’t thank them enough for their effort, belief, and commitment. We had our ups and downs across the weekend and the season, but to come out on top in the last race is just an incredible feeling. A huge thanks to McAMS, Racing, and all our sponsors for their amazing support – this victory is for them and for everyone in the garage who have been part of this journey.”

Tim Martin
McAMS Racing, Team Owner

“This weekend has been incredibly emotional for all of us. To bow out of the British Superbike Championship with a victory is more than we could have ever hoped for – it’s the perfect ending to what has been an unforgettable chapter in Mar-Train’s story. Over the years, we’ve shared the highs, the heartbreaks, and everything in between. But one thing has always stayed the same, the dedication and passion of this small, family-run team. To see Danny cross the line first today, knowing the effort that’s gone into every lap, means the world. I want to thank our amazing crew and our loyal sponsors for standing by us through it all, and thank you to the fans who’ve supported us from the very beginning. We’re proud to have flown the flag for an independent Irish team at the very top level, and to end it with a win is something we’ll never forget.”
