Eazi-Grip supported Ten Kate Racing are ready to go for World Supersport in Misano

This weekend the fourth round of the FIM Superworld Championship will take place at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Italy. Ten Kate Racing heads to the Italian circuit on the Adriatic coast with confidence after winning five of the first six races. Dominique Aegerter has finished on the podium in all races and now has a 44-point lead in the championship.

Together with his team, the Swiss rider will do everything in his power to maintain this form. Aegerter scored his first World Supersport double victory in 2021 at Misano after starting from pole position and setting the fastest lap in both races.

For Leonardo Taccini, the race weekend at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli will be his home race. In Estoril the Italian scored points again in Race 1, for Race 2 it was decided together with the team not to start after a heavy crash in the warm-up. Taccini has been able to recover from the operation on his forearm and hopes to get his best result in the class on home soil.

Dominique Aegerter: “It’s time for Misano, the fourth race in this championship. I’m going there with a good feeling and nice memories as we won both races from pole position there last year. I like the track and the surrounding area, hopefully we’ll have sunny weather to enjoy it even more. We’re currently leading the championship with 44 points advantage, hopefully we can extend that this weekend. The goal is to fight for the podium again. I did a motocross race on Monday in the Swiss championship which was a lot of fun, but now I’m happy to see the Ten Kate family again.”

Leonardo Taccini: “This weekend I will have my home round in Misano, I think the Riccione area is great. We need to continue in the way we have been working over the last races. I think we can show our true potential this weekend and it would be fantastic if we could have our best result of the season so far. I’m really looking forward to it and can’t wait to be working with the Ten Kate Racing team again.”

Kervin Bos – Ten Kate Racing team manager: “We are already in Misano and fortunately the weather is fantastic, which is of course a very good combination with the beautiful surroundings here. Last year we had a great result here with Dominique and it’s safe to say he’s in great form at the moment with two World Supersport doubles in a row and podium finishes in the MotoE championship. The team has worked hard again to prepare the bikes as well as possible and we hope to make another step forward technically with some updates. The important thing is that we go into this weekend feeling calm and stable. For Leonardo it looks a lot better than in Estoril as he is fully recovered from the surgery on his forearm and his shoulder seems to be fine after the crash he had there. In short, with two fit riders there is nothing more you want than to race so we are looking forward to starting under the Italian sun this weekend.”

The race weekend at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli starts on Friday with two free practice sessions starting at 11:25 and 16:00. Saturday morning’s Superpole session starts at 10:25am with the first race of the weekend at 3:15pm. After a warm-up on Sunday morning at 09:25, Race 2 will be run in the afternoon at 12:45.
