Eazi-Grip supported Ten Kate have a fabulous weekend at Dominique’s home round at Assen for the World Superbikes Supersport round

Dominique Aegerter scored a convincing victory during the first World Supersport race at the TT Circuit Assen. From pole position Aegerter crossed the finish line in first place with his special yellow Ten Kate Racing Yamaha R6 with three seconds advantage. Galang Hendra Pratama scored two points by finishing fourteenth.

This weekend, Ten Kate Racing Yamaha will be on track with Dominique Aegerter in a special #ProjectYellow livery at the team’s home race in Assen. Aegerter was immediately fast in these legendary colours, as he topped the timesheets in free practice with a new lap record. Galang Hendra Pratama ended the first day in twenty-first place. In Superpole, Aegerter managed to improve a little more and scored his second pole position of the 2021 season with a 1’37.222. Hendra Pratama didn’t improve compared to his lap time from Friday and qualified twenty-fourth for the races in Assen.

Aegerter took the lead after the start. After losing a few places in the opening phase, the Swiss rider quickly regained the lead. Aegerter accelerated and slowly managed to shake off the competition with a strong pace. The Ten Kate Racing Yamaha rider set the fastest lap of the race with a 1’37.688 in the penultimate lap and won the race by three seconds. Hendra Pratama had a good start and managed to move up into the points positions throughout the race. The Indonesian managed to win the battle with two other riders and finished in a neat fourteenth place.

Aegerter’s fourth victory marked the first win for Ten Kate Racing in Assen since Michael van der Mark did it with the team in 2014. Aegerter also increased his lead in the world championship to 22 points. Hendra Pratama climbed to fifteenth position in the standings with his two points. Sunday afternoon at 12:30 the second World Supersport race will start in Assen.

Dominique Aegerter: “It was a perfect day. I want to thanks the team, all my sponsors and also the Dutch fans. It great to win on the team’s home soil. Pole position, fastest lap, the win and a bigger lead in the championship: it couldn’t be better. Tomorrow we have another race and we try to repeat our great day. The conditions will be a bit different, but I think it will be a cool race again!”

Galang Hendra Pratama: “We expected a lot more from qualifying, so that was disappointed. But I had a good start in the race. After an action of another rider in front of me, I lost a lot of time. After that I could push to a fourteenth position. Again we have some points in the bag and I already have more points than last year. It’s also good for the team championship, so I help Domi also a little bit. Tomorrow I hope that the weather stays stable and I have a good start again. Thanks for all the support!”

Team manager Kervin Bos: “Winning your home race with a yellow and black Ten Kate Racing Yamaha R6 is awesome! A big compliment for the team, because again we have brought updates and this worked out perfectly. Dominique excelled from the first lap this weekend. I think this special livery gives him a little bit extra. Galang finished in the points again after a good and stable race. A great day for Ten Kate Racing Yamaha and we’re already looking forward to tomorrow.”

Dominique Aegerter also wins the second World Supersport race in the legendary yellow and black livery at the TT Circuit Assen. A great success for Ten Kate Racing Yamaha at their home track. Aegerter won his fifth race of the 2021 season with a lead of more than seven seconds. Galang Hendra Pratama unfortunately crashed in the first lap.

Dominique Aegerter won Saturday afternoon’s first World Supersport race at the TT Circuit with the special #ProjectYellow livery. Galang Hendra Pratama finished fourteenth on the Ten Kate Racing Yamaha R6. Sunday afternoon, Aegerter started from pole position again in the team’s home race, whilst Hendra Pratama had to start from the eighth row of the grid. Unfortunately, Hendra Pratama’s race came to an early end after a crash in the first corner.

Aegerter had a good start, but lost a few places in the first few laps. From third place, the Swiss rider managed to get back into the lead on the fifth lap. Aegerter increased the pace and managed to break up the leading group. Only Philipp Oettl was able to follow. In the second half of the race Aegerter was able to accelerate again and pull away from Oettl. After eighteen laps Aegerter crossed the finish line in first place with a lead of more than seven seconds, giving Ten Kate Racing Yamaha a fantastic double at their home track in Assen.

Aegerter has extended his lead in the world championship to 44 points on second placed Steven Odendaal. Hendra Pratama is in seventeenth position in the championship. The fifth round of the World Supersport Championship will take place in two weeks’ time (6th to 8th of August) at the circuit of Most in the Czech Republic.

Dominique Aegerter: “It was a great race again. After the start we had some small fights. When I was in the lead, I could make the pace and a gap to the other riders. The track conditions were a bit different compared to yesterday’s Superpole. Many thanks to the team, they have given me a perfect bike at their home track. We made some history for Ten Kate Racing Yamaha in the special yellow and black livery this weekend. I hope that the Dutch fans enjoyed the races!”

Galang Hendra Pratama: “During the warm up I felt very good and I was confident for the race. I had a good start and gained a lot of places. Unfortunately I crashed coming out of the first corner. I want to say sorry to the team, but these things can happen. I’m already really looking forward to the next races in Most.

Team manager Kervin Bos: “What a weekend! With Dominique we were constantly the fastest man on track. This resulted in a pole position, two victories and twice the fastest race lap. I am speechless. #ProjectYellow has been more than a success. Great that we could show this in front of our home crowd. All credits to Dominique and the team. Unfortunately a crash for Galang, but fortunately the rider is OK. I want to thank all sponsors and partners for this great success!”
