Lee Jackson is still on a high following his debut race win in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park, and ahead of this weekend’s Donington Park event, the FS-3 Racing Kawasaki rider is feeling confident of maintaining his momentum.
The Lincolnshire rider has had a career best start to a season, arriving at round three holding fifth place in the standings as he aims to claim a place in the Showdown for the first time this season.
Jackson said: “Oulton Park was obviously a great weekend for me; we started the weekend strongly in both practice sessions after a strong test the week before, and it gave us more to work on with some new ideas to try. We made an improvement with the bike that we have been looking for and it showed.
“Unfortunately I messed up in qualifying which wasn’t ideal but I got my head down to get my first podium of the year, and then I followed it up with my first BSB win. It feels like it had been a long time coming!
“Oulton Park is pretty tough track, but one of my favourites and looking ahead to Donington, with the shorter layout, I am looking forward to getting back out again and trying to make the next step. I will definitely be trying to fight for three podiums over the weekend because we want to continue this roll.
“My aim is to consolidate my place in the Showdown and get those podium points in the bag to hopefully be there to fight for the championship at the end of the season. I want to thanks FS-3 Racing Kawasaki and all of our partners as we have been working hard to get to this point and it is all coming together now.”
