Two crucial races await this week – Hakim Danish in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup Round 7, the season finale in Misano, and Qabil Irfan in the Espana Superbike Championship Round 6 in Estoril, Portugal.
Interestingly, both Malaysian riders are in contention for championship points. Danish currently trails the leader by 26 points, but with a maximum of 50 points still up for grabs this weekend, everything remains possible.
Meanwhile, Qabil Irfan, who currently leads by 32 points, is expected to face stiff competition from his closest rivals, Alessio Arnold and Enzo Zaragoza. The team has fine-tuned all preparations, while Qabil’s training has been intensified ahead of this week’s round to strengthen his position in the overall standings.
Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup – Round 7, San Marino, Misano
The final round of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup will take place at Misano, San Marino. The circuit, featuring 10 right-hand corners, 6 left-hand corners and a 530-metre straight, is set to deliver its own unique challenges as the championship reaches its climax.
Anything can still happen. Although Hakim Danish trails championship leader Brian Uriarte by 26 points, it will not stop him from fighting to reclaim the top spot. Having spent three intensive weeks training in Sepang, Danish is ready to return with renewed determination in pursuit of victory.
The final round promises to be an intense showdown as the 2025 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup Champion will be crowned and the title race remains wide open for Hakim Danish.
Espana Superbike Championship (ESBK) – Pusingan 6, Estoril, Portugal
At the same time, Qabil Irfan is set to compete in Round 6 of the ESBK at Estoril, Portugal. The 4.182 km circuit, featuring 13 corners and a 986-metre straight, is familiar to Qabil and is even one of his favourite tracks. He currently leads the overall standings with a 32-point advantage over his closest rival, Arnold Alessio from Switzerland.
After completing Round 5 in Navarra, Qabil remained in Barcelona for intensive training with Riders Formation. The training focused on both physical fitness and riding skills, aiming to enhance Qabil’s performance ahead of this week’s races. The ESBK Talent category is expected to become even more competitive ahead of the final two rounds: Round 6 this week at Estoril and Round 7, the season finale, at Jerez.
Hakim Danish: “After spending three weeks in Malaysia, I trained hard, riding motorcycles, cycling, running and working out in the gym. I am definitely more motivated for the final round. Right now, I am in 3rd place in the overall standings and still have the chance to fight for the top spot. What’s on my mind now is to win both races.”
Qabil Irfan: “I’ve been in Barcelona for intensive training with Riders Formation and now I’m fully prepared to kick off race week. I hope everything goes smoothly, and I’ll give my very best to maintain my position in the championship this week.”
Zulfahmi Khairuddin: “This week is very important for both of our riders, Hakim Danish and Qabil Irfan. For Hakim Danish, we are currently 26 points behind the leader in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. I believe that after three weeks of solid preparation in Malaysia, Danish is fully ready for this weekend’s races, and I will be with him in Misano. Our hope is for Danish to win both Race 1 and Race 2, especially as Misano is one of his favourite circuits. Our ultimate aim is, of course, to become the RBRC champion.
As for Qabil Irfan, he is leading the ESBK Talent Cup with a 32-point advantage. We cannot allow Alessio to win all the races, so I have discussed with the team about making some adjustments to the bike. We are confident the team will provide him with an even better machine. Qabil has also been training with Riders Formation throughout last week, and I hope he will continue to fight for victory at the Estoril Circuit.
Don’t forget to follow both of our Malaysian riders competing this week at two different venues – Misano and Estoril.”
