The Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) resumes this weekend for round four where Broc Pearson will be the sole rider for DesmoSport Ducati as Troy Herfoss remains state-side to contest the latest round of the King of the Baggers. Well known for being one of the only tracks in the world to require a Kangaroo flag, Morgan Park Raceway is a challenging 3km circuit in south-east Queensland, around 130km from Brisbane.
Ben Henry: “We had a pretty good test a few weeks ago, and although it did end with a crash for Broc, we’ve taken some confidence from our pace as we head to another local circuit for the team. We’ve had some good results here over the years, and so has Broc, so I expect that to continue if I’m honest. We spent time over the break not just working on the bikes, but also a few other projects that I hope we can announce soon, while also taking a much-needed break. Being relatively local for us this weekend, I’m looking forward to seeing more familiar faces around the paddock as our local supporters head out to track too.”
Broc Pearson: “Crashing in testing is never ideal, but we know what happened and why, and I felt really good on the bike with the different things we tried prior to that. I’m disappointed that we didn’t finish that test with a clean bike, and I got a little banged up at the time, but I’m fit and ready to race this weekend. Ben and Ken have been working hard back at the workshop, I think we’re in for a strong weekend, even though we might have a few late nights and early mornings cheering on Herf in the US. I like racing at Morgan Park, it’s a track I know well and have had strong results in the past, so I can’t wait to get on track on Friday and get back to racing after the break.”
