DAO Racing are set for a return to action as the ZYN British Superbike Championship heads south to Hampshire, and to Thruxton, with Josh Brookes and Lee Jackson aiming for strong results at the fastest circuit on the BSB calendar.

Following a ten-day break from action after a challenging weekend at Oulton Park, the team have now recovered and are ready to return to action at Thruxton, a former airfield circuit based in Hampshire.

Josh Brookes, who currently sits 13th in the Championship standings on 77 points, heads to Thruxton optimistic that he can avenge recent results. The Australian holds two records around the 2.3-mile venue, holding the lap record that he achieved in 2019 and collecting nine career victories, more than any rider on the BSB grid.

‘LeeBob’ Jackson travels to Hampshire sitting 11th in the series, just 57 points shy of the top six, a gap that can be cut down this weekend with three races scheduled. The Lincolnshire man has improved his feeling with the Fireblade over the previous rounds and is confident that those developments will enhance his chances of positive results this weekend.

Thruxton Circuit is one of Britain’s fastest and most challenging venues, renowned for high-speed corners, flowing layouts and spectacular racing that consistently tests riders and machines to their limits.

Josh Brookes: “Heading to Thruxton next, it has often been classed as my favourite circuit, but in recent years it’s been a difficult circuit for me. I feel that’s down to the change in tyre compound; it’s more down to getting grip from the rubber from the off, not managing your tyres during the race, and that’s an area we are struggling with at the moment.

“Thruxton is quite a tricky circuit, and given our recent form it’s not somewhere that I’m heading to with confidence, because I know it will be hard work. But each year is different and I am optimistic that we can achieve some positive results this weekend.”

Lee Jackson: “I didn’t get to race at Thruxton in 2025 due to my injuries, so this weekend will be my first time there on the DAO Honda. Having made progress over the last few weekends with the bike, we’re getting closer to the front and I feel that this weekend we’ll perform well and do a good job.

“As a rider, I’m in a good place, a much better place than I was in 2024 when I last raced there. I feel like I’m good at saving my tyres and I think this weekend we’ll be able to race well and come away with strong results for the team.”

Team Manager Jonny Bagnall: “Heading to Thruxton this weekend, it’s one of the fastest circuits on the calendar, and it really does throw up some exciting racing. It’s a unique circuit and doesn’t tend to suit one manufacturer like some circuits we visit. Historically, the Fireblade has competed well there in the past, which bodes well for both Lee and Josh.

“Josh has a rich history at Thruxton; he has taken nine career victories there and it’s fair to say it’s one of his favourite tracks on the calendar. Fingers crossed that will be on display this weekend. Due to Lee’s injuries last year, he didn’t get the chance to race at Thruxton with us; however, he enjoys the fast and flowing nature of it, so myself and the team have a positive feeling as we travel south.”

The weekend gets underway on Friday, August 14, with two free practice sessions and a pre-qualifying session, before qualifying and race one on Saturday, followed by two races on Sunday.
