Cumbria-based ZYN BSB squad DAO Racing are set for the annual ‘Party in the Park’ at Cadwell Park this Bank Holiday Weekend, as Lee Jackson and Josh Brookes look to improve their fortunes at one of the most physically demanding circuits on the calendar.

Following another challenging weekend for the team at Thruxton, both Jackson and Brookes head to the Lincolnshire Wolds full of optimism and prepared to fight for their best results of the 2026 season.

The Bringelly-born Brookes travels to Cadwell sitting 14th in the Championship standings, just 13 points shy of his teammate, and is determined to improve his 2026 season. Brookes, who has enjoyed much success in his illustrious BSB career at Cadwell Park, is hopeful of repeat success this weekend as he looks to put his Fireblade into podium contention.

Local hero Lee Jackson lives just 24 miles from Cadwell Park and, like Brookes, has enjoyed much of his career success around the 2.2-mile woodland venue. ‘Leebob’, who took a triple podium during his last visit to his home circuit in 2024, is looking to repeat that feat in 2026 after missing this round in 2025 due to injury.

The 31-year-old currently sits 22 points shy of the top eight in the Championship standings, and three solid results across the weekend in the Wolds will help him climb the series.

Nestled in the rolling Lincolnshire Wolds, Cadwell Park has a proud history stretching back to 1934. Its undulating character, narrow sections and iconic ‘Mountain’ have since made it one of the most challenging and spectacular venues on the British racing calendar. Motorcycle racing has remained at the heart of Cadwell Park throughout its history, with the venue now firmly established as one of the most anticipated stops on the British Superbike Championship calendar.

Josh Brookes: “We’ve got a four-day weekend at Cadwell, because we have an evening test on Friday night and that will be critical for us right now. We have tried a lot of things during race weekends, which has shown moments of improvements but nothing that has really made a big impact on our final results.

“So having that evening test could be pivotal for how we get the bike working at the weekend. I feel like we’ve had a fairly stable set-up with the bike in recent rounds, we haven’t ventured too far away from it and we’ve had a fairly consistent package. But we’re still missing something to be within the fight for a pleasing position.

“Cadwell is a physical circuit, so I’m hoping I can wear down the opposition and pick off some of my rivals towards the end of the races, I know fatigue affects people differently but I’ve always remained strong towards the end of a race so hopefully that plays a part this weekend.”

Lee Jackson: “Cadwell Park is my home round and I’m very excited to get back out on track. Going there I do get added pressure, but I use that as extra motivation to put on a show for all my friends, family and supporters. I didn’t get to ride Cadwell in 2025 because of my injury, but I have great memories from 2024 when I raced a Honda there, I was battling for the podium and came away with three trophies and I felt strong on a Fireblade.

“I am looking forward to it, this year is going to be no different to any other year at Cadwell, it’s so hard to pass there so qualifying is going to be key. I want to be in the fight this weekend, I don’t think we are too far away and hopefully the extra motivation of my home round can push us further up the front.”

Team manager Jonny Bagnall: “Cadwell Park is a circuit like no other on the BSB calendar, it’s tight, twisty, undulating and throws everything at the riders as well the team.

“So far, this season hasn’t gone as planned but we haven’t given in, and we’re heading to Cadwell with a lot of optimism, both Lee and Josh have had a lot of success around there, and they know what it takes to be successful.

“We’ve made some progress over the recent rounds, and after a solid week of work back in the workshop, we’ve got a good direction for the weekend. Our aim, like every weekend, is to be running up the front and challenging for the podium, and I hope we’ll be on the right path for that at Cadwell Park.”

Action gets underway on Friday evening with a two-and-a-half-hour test for the ZYN BSB class, before free practice and pre-qualifying on Saturday, with qualifying and race one on Sunday and two races on Bank Holiday Monday.
