It was a busy weekend for the C&L Fairburn Properties Look Forward Honda team at round 8 of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Donington Park. The team faced four Sprint races, and it proved to be another very difficult weekend for everyone with only one 11th place finish.
Billy has been troubled with several bike issues throughout the weekend, which hindered his progress throughout. He struggled during qualifying, and this continued to be the theme for the weekend.
Billy was having some good races but was struck by a few mechanical gremlins in race one and four. During race two, Billy was having a good run but unfortunately crashed out. Race three showed some positive progress and Billy was in the fight for a top ten finish. He secured 11th overall and some Championship points. A gearbox problem in the final race of the weekend forced Billy to retire.
Billy – “It’s been another tough weekend for me and the team; it seems to be the story of our year so far. It just didn’t go to plan, and I kept losing vital track time. I’m disappointed as we kept making progress, but it just wasn’t to be. I’m happy with the 11th place and really hope we can finish the final three races on a high note.”
Chris Fairburn – “Our season just hasn’t gone to plan this year, and we seem to have been struck with a lot of bad luck. Everyone worked extremely hard to get things right, but small issues caused big problems. We will re-group again and hopefully have a successful end to the season.”
