Christian Iddon and Oxford Products Racing Ducati aiming high at Brands Hatch this weekend

Christian Iddon and the Oxford Products Racing Ducati team head into the Bennetts British Superbike Championship round at Brands Hatch this weekend gunning to add to their podium tally, holding third in the standings and ready to narrow the deficit.

Iddon took victory at Knockhill, rebounding from a huge crash at Donington Park in style and has now accumulated seven podium finishes, trailing Glenn Irwin at the top of the standings by 21-points ahead of the three races in Kent.

Iddon said: “I am looking forward to Brands Hatch; we’re coming off the back of two really strong rounds, especially after it being difficult from Donington Park where we picked up a few little niggles, and injuries, so we’ve sort of managed to really regroup well!

“Neither of the previous two rounds have been easy, not by a long shot, in fact they’ve been difficult but we’ve managed to extract some really good results out of it, which shows we’re working well as a team. We seem to have a reasonable flow of momentum at the moment, we keep reducing the gap to first place in the championship and that is the absolute goal and the aim.

“Brands is a track that seems to suit me pretty good, I don’t know why but I tend to have good results there. The way we’ve got the bike at the moment it does seem to like to roll, which is not necessarily normally a Ducati-esque type thing, that we manage to get the bike set up to. But, Brands Hatch is a lot of a flow track, if we can maintain what we’ve got, then I think we’ve got a really good package going into this round.”
