BSB Race Report – Brands Hatch

Race One

Bradley Ray ended his winning drought on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit by claiming the opening Bennetts British Superbike Championship race victory of the weekend as Scott Redding continued to close and Kyle Ryde returned to the podium.

Ray had seized the advantage at the start of the race with Christian Iddon and Rory Skinner initially holding the top three positons ahead of Ryde and Redding.

Ryde was soon into third on the Nitrous Competitions OMG Racing Yamaha, and behind Skinner went wide on lap three at Graham Hill Bend, giving Redding the invitation he needed to move ahead.

Ray was pushing to claim his first Superbike victory at his home circuit and started to edge an advantage, but behind Iddon was holding second until lap six when Ryde attacked at Hawthorns.

Iddon was ready to fight back and he made his move on lap ten at Paddock Hill Bend with a dive down the inside, but the defending champion regained the position at Hawthorns.

Redding though was also in the hunt and he moved into third at Hawthorns and then had Ryde in his sights as Iddon held fourth place on the AJN Steelstock Kawasaki.

The champions then were duelling for second place and Redding launched his move on Ryde at Surtees with a dive down the inside. The Hager PBM Ducati then had his sights firmly set on closing the gap to Ray at the front as Ryde gave chase.

Redding was closing but despite setting the fastest lap of the race to take tomorrow’s Omologato Pole Position, he had to settle for second and take his first podium finish with Hager PBM Ducati since his 2019 title-winning year.

Ryde held third to add to his podium tally for Nitrous Competitions OMG Racing Yamaha, but Iddon and Danny Kent were also in close contention as Team Green equalled their best result of the season and McAMS Racing Yamaha claimed their highest finish of 2025.

Tommy Bridewell fought off Max Cook for sixth place ahead of Skinner who dropped to eighth with DAO Racing Honda’s Josh Brookes and Lee Jackson completing the top ten.

Race Two

The ‘Comeback Kid’ Scott Redding claimed his first Bennetts British Superbike Championship race win of the season in an intense second race at Brands Hatch, with the Hager PBM Ducati team celebrating their first victory of the year as championship leader Bradley Ray crashed out of contention.

Ray had taken the lead into Paddock Hill Bend for the first time from Redding, Christian Iddon and Danny Kent, with Kyle Ryde losing ground off the line.

The Raceways Yamaha rider was trying to make a break, but Redding was keeping him in his sights as Kent moved into third on the McAMS Racing Yamaha with a decisive move at Clearways on his AJN Steelstock Kawasaki rival.

Ray was holding the lead as Redding shadowed and looking for his opportunity to make a move, but the BMW Safety Car was deployed when MasterMac Honda’s Charlie Nesbitt crashed out at Hawthorns on lap five. Honda Racing UK’s Tommy Bridewell was another rider to also crash out, when his race ended at Clearways on lap three.

As the pack lined up ready for the restart, as the race resumed, Ray continued to fend off his Hager PBM Ducati rival until the ninth lap when he had a fast crash on the exit of Westfield.

Redding charged to the chequered flag to take his first race win in the championship since 2019 as Ryde had regrouped and fought to second on the Nitrous Competitions OMG Racing Yamaha. Kent completed the podium to secure his best finish of the season so far for McAMS Racing Yamaha, breaking the AJN Steelstock Kawasakis of Iddon and Max Cook.

Rory Skinner completed the top six for Cheshire Mouldings Ducati, ahead of Andrew Irwin, with Leon Haslam splitting the DAO Racing Honda pairing of Lee Jackson in eighth and Josh Brookes in tenth respectively.

Race Three

Scott Redding marked his full-time return to the championship by being crowned the Monster Energy King of Brands.

At the start of the race, championship leader Bradley Ray had launched into the lead from Redding, but Ryde was instantly attacking and moved second at Druids on the Nitrous Competitions OMG Racing Yamaha.

Redding then lost ground as first Danny Kent and then Christian Iddon dived ahead at Druids and the run to Graham Hill Bend, but the Hager PBM Ducati rider responded at Hawthorns to regain fourth. Kent then launched the McAMS Racing Yamaha ahead of Ryde as the pair began duelling for second place.

Lee Jackson had a heavy tumble at Clearways on lap four which meant the BMW Safety Car was deployed and as the pack lined up behind, Ray was leading the pack from Kent, Ryde and Redding with Iddon and Andrew Irwin up next.

When the race resumed, Kent instantly made a move on Ray into Paddock Hill Bend to lead the race and then the Raceways Yamaha rider lost another position as Ryde made a move for second.

Andrew Irwin then crashed out in spectacular style at Sheene Curve, as Honda Racing UK ended a tough weekend on the Grand Prix circuit.

Kent then held the lead until lap 12 when Ryde went for the lead at Hawthorns, but a lap later the McAMS Racing Yamaha rider regained the position at Paddock Hill Bend, before the lead changed again at Druids. The final move gave Ryde the edge as he took victory from Kent, with Redding able to pass Ray on the penultimate lap to take the final podium position and seal the Monster Energy King of Brands trophy.

Ray missed out on the podium, with Iddon completing the top five for AJN Steelstock Kawasaki. Rory Skinner was a lone sixth for Cheshire Mouldings Ducati with Leon Haslam holding off Max Cook and Josh Brookes for seventh as Fraser Rogers completed the top ten.
