The final round of the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch saw Raceways Yamaha and Brad Ray take a hard-fought second-place finish in the championship standings.
The team’s weekend at the iconic grand prix venue delivered a strong set of results for the crew, with Ray aboard the Yamaha R1 securing a trio of podium finishes to keep title hopes alive until the final race of the season.
Despite falling short of a second British title for both Ray and the team, the newly reformed outfit can take great pride in a remarkable season – securing 12 race victories and 10 additional podium finishes, marking one of the most impressive campaigns in the team’s history.
Heading into the final weekend of the year, Ray and the team trailed the championship leader by 30 points. With a significant gap to close, they arrived determined and immediately demonstrated strong pace from the outset.
After securing his tenth pole position of the season, Ray delivered a strong performance aboard the R1 in the opening race of the weekend. Determined to claim victory, the former World Superbike rider fought within the leading trio throughout the 20-lap contest, ultimately edging out title rival Kyle Ryde to take second at the flag and narrow the gap to 27 points.
Despite showing strong pace at the front of the field in Sunday’s 12-lap sprint, Ray narrowly missed out on second place, crossing the line just 0.05 seconds behind Ryde to finish third. The result left him 30 points adrift of the championship leader heading into the final race of the weekend.
A third podium finish of the weekend, earned in the challenging conditions of Race 3, wasn’t enough to clinch the title, as rival Kyle Ryde crossed the line in sixth to secure the championship by 20 points.
Despite falling just short in the final standings, the weekend marked another strong performance for Ray, who closed the season on a high note, narrowing the gap in the title fight and capping off an impressive year of progress and achievement for the team.

“It’s obviously not the ending to the year we were hoping for, but looking back, I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved. Just two weeks before the season started, I didn’t even have a ride – so to be standing here now as the runner-up in the championship is something I’m genuinely proud of. This has been one of the most enjoyable seasons of my career; as a team, we’ve accomplished so much together, and I can’t thank them enough for their hard work and belief all year long. This weekend was strong, but in the end, Kyle’s consistency over the season made the difference. Huge congratulations to him on a great year. We’ll take everything we’ve learned, regroup, and come back stronger in 2026.”

“I couldn’t be prouder of what Brad and the entire team have achieved this season. To think that, just before the season began, we were still in the process of putting everything together – and now we’ve finished runner-up in the championship – is truly remarkable. The effort, determination, and spirit everyone has shown has been second to none. Brad’s performed brilliantly all year, and the crew behind him have worked tirelessly to give him the tools to fight at the front. Of course, we wanted that top step, but finishing second after the journey we’ve had is something we can all hold our heads high about. Congratulations to Kyle and his team on a well-deserved title, and a huge thank you to our sponsors and supporters. We’ll take this momentum into the off-season and come back even stronger next year.”
