Bathams AJN Racing is delighted to announce our continuation with Lincolnshire road racer Craig Neve, riding alongside team manager Michael Rutter at the 2025 International Northwest 200 Isle of Man TT and Classic TT races.
Neve joined Bathams Racing for the 2023 road race season and enjoyed the best results of his road racing career.
He claimed a best result of 7th position in the Superstock race on board his Honda Fireblade at the Northwest 200 – his first top ten result in an international race.
Then at the Isle of Man TT races, he set a personal best lap time of 130.8MPH in the Senior race, which as well as being the first time he went faster than the famous 130mph milestone, also made him the 16th fastest person ever to lap the TT course. Craig also secured a best result of 8th position in the supersport race to claim his first top 10 result at the Isle of Man.
The 2024 season was a bitter/sweet for Neve, backing up his first top ten result at the Northwest 200 in 2023 by finishing no less than five races in the top ten in 2024, with personal best lap times aplenty. Then during practice at the Isle of Man TT, having posted some promising times, he crashed heavily. Whilst Craig did avoid any serious injuries, he was injured enough to be ruled out of the rest of the event.
Successful surgery on his injuries, and an off-season program of intense physiotherapy and recovery has prepared Neve better than ever for the 2025 season, which is why Bathams AJN Racing are thrilled to continue with him for a third season together.
Neve will be sticking with his Honda Fireblades in the Superbike and Superstock categories, and his Triumph Daytona in the Supersport category.
Meanwhile Michael Rutter will be competing at the Northwest 200 in the Superbike and Supertwin classes on the teams BMW M1000RR and Yamaha R7.
At the TT Rutter will be taking a step back from the Superbike class and focusing on the Supertwin only.
Neve: “Last year was so frustrating for me. I went into 2024 on a high after such a great 2023 season, and in the blink of an eye it all changed for me at the TT.
My Northwest 200 was great, and the TT got off to a great start during practice week, then it was all over after I tipped off my Triumph during Supersport practice and bashed myself about a bit.
I must say a massive thanks to all the marshals and medical staff at the TT, and everyone else since then who have helped me recover to the best physical condition I’ve been in for a long time.
There’s not a lot else to say about last year, other than it’s behind me now, and all my focus and effort is on the 2025 season with Bathams AJN Racing.”
Rutter: “Last year was really disappointing for Craig after such a great 2023 and start to 2024. He’s worked so hard during the winter to get fully fit again, so we’re thrilled to be able to carry on with him in 2025.
As for myself, I’m going to take a step back from the big bike at the TT. I finished the Senior TT in 9thlast year, and in my heart I know that’s the very very best I can do, mainly because I just don’t ride the superbike regularly enough to take on the TT course with that kind of power.
However, I really feel there is a lot more potential in the teams R7 Supertwin, which we’re looking at, and I’m genuinely excited about developing that further at the TT.
I must say a huge thanks to our sponsors who share our desire to compete at a high level, and develop young riders, so thanks to Bathams Ales, AJN Steelstock, Keltruck, EBC Group, Level and Worcester Presses for continuing with this project.”
