Affinity Sports Academy at Knockhill

The Completely Motorbikes Affinity Sports Academy Kawasaki riders raced at the very tight and technical Knockhill Circuit in Scotland this weekend. Eugene McManus was racing in the Quattro Plant British Supersport Champion and Asher Durham, Jacob Hatch and Joe Farragher in the Pirelli Junior Supersport series.

The HEL Junior Supersport class miss this round and Knockhill but will be running as a support class at the Donington Park World Superbike round in July.

Quattro Plant British Supersport

Eugene showed great form all weekend in the Supersport class and managed to qualify the Completely Motorbikes Kawasaki in second place on the grid for the opening race on Saturday. He got a great start and showed great form briefly leading at one point. He suffered a small technical problem in the closing stages of the race but was still able to finish in a strong ninth place.

He started from fifth for the second race of the weekend and worked extremely hard throughout the entire race to secure his first ever podium finish, gaining a third.

Eugene McManus – “I really wanted that, it was hard work but I was so determined to get that podium and I managed to secure it on the final lap. I had a really good battle with Harry Truelove and Brad Perie and it’s great to put the Completely Motorbikes Kawasaki on the podium. I’d like to thank all the team and the sponsors for their support throughout the season and it is great to be able to reward them with this. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the season now.”

Pirelli Junior Superstock

It was a strong weekend in the Junior Superstock class, Asher Durham secured his first podium of the year and took third place in the second race of the weekend.

All three riders worked hard throughout the weekend and continued to improve in every session. For race one on Saturday Asher qualified in 10th place, Jacob in 19th and Joe in 32nd.

Asher had two fantastic races, he worked hard in race one to finish in sixth position. This put him in seventh on the grid for race two, he got a great start and was soon battling up near the front and in a podium position. He stayed consistent and fought to the end to gain a fantastic third place.

Jacob has never been to Knockhill before and really made huge steps throughout the weekend making some huge improvements in every session. From 19th on the grid for race one he dug deep and finished in the points in 14th. He had to start the second race two from 20th so once again he had a lot of work to do but he managed to get a great result and finish in 12th.

Joe Farragher has also never been to the circuit, and he made good improvements throughout the weekend, he battled hard and gained a 28th and 31st place.

Asher Durham – “It was a really good weekend; we made a lot of good steps with the bike and we know where we need to improve. We put in some really fast lap times; I was able to run lap record pace during the race. It’s a bit frustrating I wasn’t able to finish second, I’m really pleased to get on the podium. Thank you to everyone in the Completely Motorbikes Kawasaki team for their continued help and support.”

Jacob Hatch – “I had a good weekend, we have been working hard on my times each session and learning the track, I’m really happy to gain points in both of the races this weekend and looking forward to the next round.”

Joe Farragher – “It was tough weekend and a bad qualifying session made it hard work in the races. We are definitely heading in the rider direction now which is great. The track was fun to ride and good to learn. Thank you to everyone involved.”

Team Manager – Chris Parry – “It’s been a fantastic weekend for the whole team, all the riders improved and we secured two podiums with Eugene and Asher, it could not be better. Thanks to the whole team / mechanics / helpers and back-room staff for all their efforts every weekend and of course all the team sponsors who support us.”
