During Saturday’s Practice session, Danish suffered a crash early in the session and was unable to set a competitive time, finishing in 14th position. This result secured him a place in Qualifying 2, alongside the top 14 riders battling for the front grid positions.
The Qualifying session, which took place later the same day under dry conditions, saw Danish finish in 5th place, earning him a second-row start in P5 for the main race.
However, on race day (Sunday), weather conditions changed as rain fell just before the start. As seen during the live broadcast, the team made some last-minute adjustments to Danish’s bike. When the red lights went out, Danish launched quickly into the first corner but was challenged by other riders, dropping him to sixth position.
Entering the second lap, Danish crashed and his bike sustained minor technical damage. Nevertheless, he did not give up and managed to continue the race, crossing the finish line in 29th position.
Hakim Danish’s next race will be on 12–13 July for the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup at Sachsenring, Germany, followed by Round 4 of the FIM JuniorGP World Championship on 26–27 July at MotorLand Aragón, Spain.
Hakim Danish:
“I’m quite disappointed with today’s race as I wasn’t able to finish in a good position after crashing early in the race. The wet track conditions made it difficult, and I didn’t feel confident, especially with the rear tyre as it felt loose on every lap. I tried to maintain my momentum and stay with the front group, but unfortunately, I went down. I’ll stay focused, and next week I’ll be racing in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, I hope everyone will keep me in their prayers.”
Zulfahmi Khairuddin – Team Manager:
“It was a very challenging race for Danish, having to compete in wet conditions. There were no wet sessions throughout the week, and I believe Danish didn’t get a good feeling with the bike from the very first lap. The team tried to make some adjustments on the grid, there was some improvement, but it wasn’t enough.
I truly believe Danish is strong in the wet, but in this situation, it was difficult for the team to make the right setup decisions as we didn’t have any practice data in the rain. Danish gave it his best, but unfortunately, he crashed on the second lap. I’m somewhat disappointed with the outcome, but this is racing, anything can happen. We’ll stay focused and push for the next podium. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”
