A Strong Weekend For PTR Triumph At Most

Bayliss Secures Strong Top Six Finish in Most Race One

PTR Triumph Racing Factory Team’s Oli Bayliss delivered a solid ride to sixth place in race one of the FIM World Supersport Championship at the Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic today, while teammate Tom Booth-Amos showed impressive pace despite a crash ending his hopes of a strong result.

Feeling confident from the beginning of the weekend, Bayliss qualified fourth for the opening 19-lap contest, lining up at the head of the second row. The Australian lost a handful of positions in the early stages but fought back strongly and remained in touch with the leading group throughout the race. Showing consistent pace and confidence around the demanding 4.212km circuit, Bayliss crossed the line in a hard-earned sixth position.

Oli Bayliss: “It wasn’t a bad race for us today. It was good to be in the fight, but we’re still missing a bit in some areas. If we can fix this, I think we can fight for a better position tomorrow.”

Booth-Amos started the race from seventh on the grid and quickly moved into sixth place before running wide at turn one on lap three after missing his braking marker, dropping him back to ninth. Responding immediately, the British rider set the fastest lap of the race at that stage and charged back through the field, re-passing Bayliss as he returned to the fight for the top positions.

However, his progress came to an end on lap seven when he crashed at turn one after losing the front. Despite remounting and continuing to the finish, Booth-Amos was left with a lonely race to eventually take the chequered flag in 26th position.

Tom Booth-Amos: “I started from a strong position and was running close to the front group, but unfortunately I crashed out after losing the front. Despite the setback, I managed to continue and put in some valuable lap times and build some more confidence for tomorrow. Another race awaits, and another opportunity to fight for a good result.”

PTR Triumph Racing Factory Team Manager Simon Buckmaster: “It’s good to see Oli back in a really good competitive ride.  He lost a little a bit towards the end, he had a bit of arm pump so we need to see if we can stretch his leathers a bit to give him a bit more space. Other than that, he was right there on the pace and after a few non points scoring rides, it’s good to see him right back up there, fighting right at the front and we need to look to see if we can improve on sixth tomorrow.  Oli starts eighth on the grid, Tom starts seventh so they are both in a good position.  Tom had the pace, early in the race he was the fastest man, he had the fastest lap then he went straight on. He made up the ground really quickly and he still looked like he could challenge for the podium but then he lost the front and slide off in turn one just pushing a bit too hard on braking. The bikes are actually working pretty well but we will look at some small changes to give us that bit more.  So, disappointment for Tom to crash but both guys are in a strong position to fight for the podium tomorrow.”

Bayliss Claims Most Podium as TBA Suffers Late Heartbreak

PTR Triumph Racing experienced the full range of emotions in a dramatic second race of the FIM Supersport World Championship weekend at the Autodrom Most, as Oli Bayliss secured a sensational podium finish while teammate Tom Booth-Amos suffered cruel late heartbreak.

In an action-packed 19-lap race around the fast and demanding Czech circuit, Booth-Amos looked set to bounce back from the disappointment of race one with a podium finish firmly in his sights, while Bayliss continued his strong weekend with another consistent ride inside the top five.

Bayliss ultimately claimed the second podium finish of both his World Supersport career and the 2026 season after a dramatic final lap turned the race on its head.

Starting from seventh on the grid, the Australian held position through the opening laps while Booth-Amos lost a couple of places off the line. Determined to make amends for Saturday’s crash, Booth-Amos quickly fought his way forward and by lap eight had made his move on Bayliss as he pushed into podium contention.

From there, the British rider showed impressive pace and established himself in a thrilling fight for third position with Lucas Mahias, while Bayliss maintained strong and consistent pace just behind in fifth place.

As the race entered its closing stages, Booth-Amos appeared on course for a deserved podium finish, running third on the final lap before disaster struck once again at the same corner that had ended his race one challenge. The British rider crashed out dramatically, with Mahias also falling at the same moment.

Booth-Amos bravely remounted to salvage 16th place at the chequered flag, while the late-race drama elevated Bayliss from fifth to third, handing the Australian a hard-earned and emotional podium finish for PTR Triumph Racing.

Oli Bayliss:  “A pretty good weekend, we were fast from the get go. We had a few little not problems but little niggly things that altered our first race from about half way through onwards, a lack of front grip. We made a few changes to the bike and made it so that I could push a little bit less in the early laps of race two which meant I had a little bit more tyre at the end.  Still we had a little bit of a drop off with about 2 or 3 laps to go and I made a few small mistakes which lost me to the group.  It’s a shame for Tom that he went down, also for Lucas they both went down on the last lap so I kind of went from fifth to third and that’s how we finished the weekend.  So, I mean it’s a positive weekend, we had speed all throughout so we need to take the confidence we got from this weekend and use it to try to help us in Aragon.”

Tom Booth-Amos: “Obviously not the weekend we hoped for.  We had good pace throughout the weekend and was running in good positions in the races but unfortunately two small mistakes and no points to show for it.  The race today was going well and I was sitting third on the final lap before the crash.  We’ll regroup and go again in Aragon.”

PTR Triumph Racing Factory Team Manager Simon Buckmaster: “Obviously we are really happy for Oli to get third in race two so congratulations to his side of the garage but also to the whole team, because we are a team.  Tom rode a good race and at the start of the last lap still had a chance to win but into turn one, Can Oncu was trying to outbrake Valentin Debise and he almost sort of got pulled in, lost the front and slid off so it was the same as yesterday.  That’s really disappointing for us.  On the positive front, the pace was there to win, the bike is as good as anyone’s we can see that.  Ups and downs but great to have another podium.  I’m pleased for the team and everyone at Triumph Racing for all the effort and the great job they do and all the people that support us.  Looking forward to Aragon with both riders on the pace, let’s see if we can get both of them on the podium.”
