BMW Motorrad UK announce new team 8TEN Racing with Peter Hickman and Davey Todd

8TEN Racing, named after the Isle of Man TT start numbers of Davey and Peter respectively, is set to compete across the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, North West 200, and Isle of Man TT races in 2025.
The restructure by BMW Motorrad UK has provided the opportunity for a new team to be formed, with an innovative setup where the team will be co-owned by the riders.

Strong signs for DesmoSport Ducati at Phillip Island

Seventh overall for Broc Pearson at the opening round of the 2025 Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) at Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit, taking fifth and fourth before another rider took out the Gold Coast-based rider in a turn 1 crash.

Tom Booth-Amos takes his first WorldSSP win at Phillip Island

Tom Booth-Amos: “I’m over the moon to come away with a first and a second this weekend,  to be leading the championship for the first time I didn’t really expect it.  I can’t thank the guys at PTR Triumph Factory Racing enough hopefully now we can just continue this forward for the rest of the year and fight for the title.”

Double podium for Team Go Eleven at Phillip Island

Denis Sacchetti (Team Manager): "Double podium in Phillip Island's Sunday! We have made up for what we missed yesterday. Second in the Superpole Race, third in Race Two, also closing the gap to Nicolò. Andrea rode very well, here he was very strong in the fast corners, where he was able to make the difference."

A podium amongst a challenging weekend for the BMW WorldSBK Team at Phillip Island

On Saturday, defending World Champion Toprak Razgatlioglu (TUR) finished second in the first race of the year, securing a podium finish. However, Sunday proved to be a challenging day for ‘El Turco’ and his teammate Michael van der Mark (NED).

A disappointing end to the opening WorldSBK round for Mackenzie and Zaidi

Tarran Mackenzie: “I was happy with Race 2 today as I felt a bit better and understood more about where we need to work. Obviously not the race result we wanted – I just lost the front through Turn 6 but I’m OK. Overall, it's not been an easy weekend to be honest; I felt we were a little behind in testing and had a few problems that took us some time to properly understand."

Ten Kate have a great start with the Yamaha R9 at Phillip Island

Ten Kate Racing had a brilliant weekend at Phillip Island with Stefano Manzi taking victory in Race One and finishing second in Race Two on the new Yamaha R9. Kervin Bos: "A fantastic debut for the R9 with a victory, a second place and a shared lead in the championship. Compared to last year, we are taking a lot more points from Australia and we have a package that still requires a lot of development. The potential of this bike is enormous."

Garrett Gerloff scores points after an unfortunate end to Race One, Jeremy Alcoba finishes in fifth for Kawasaki WorldSBK Superbike Team

Both sides of the Kawasaki WorldSBK Team had different fortunes this weekend with Jeremy Alcoba scoring a top 10 and top 5 finish in WorldSSP, while Garrett Gerloff suffered a technical issue in WorldSBK Race One, but managed to finish in the points in Race Two.

Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing completes final Winter test at Phillip Island

Stefano Manzi had another two days to push the new Yamaha YZF-R9 to its limits on the Australian circuit, while Yuki Okamoto had to cut his test short after just one day. The Japanese rider suffered a coccygeal fracture and dislocation and is therefore ruled out for the upcoming race weekend.

The Kawasaki WorldSBK Team is ready for Round One after productive Phillip Island tests

The Kawasaki WorldSSP Team and Jeremy Alcoba have concluded an official two-day test at Phillip Island, during which they have worked to develop the 2025 Ninja ZX-6R on track. Winter tests conditioned by rain, combined with the Spanish rider’s hand injury has limited the work of Manuel Puccetti’s team. Garrett set good lap times and got through his planned final preparations for race weekend. He had one small crash on day one and a very fast fall on day two, which he escaped without significant injury.
